Hill climb track

There is a little hill climb next week at a little ski area in NH. I had this 153 Attack 20 in the attick collecting dust for a few years so I took it out and cut it down to 1.5" and put so 1.25" Kanadian Ice screws in it where the ribs were on the paddles. I have 153 ice screws. It was ported when I got it. Should be interesting to see how it works.

Let us know how it goes.

One thing you might want to watch is running your track very loose. Letting those things get up and rip the crap out of your tunnel.

I am running it on my 05 M7. It is stock but only has 1200 miles.

Thanks for the heads up on the track tension.:face-icon-small-coo

There is still some snow up near the border of Canada, NH and Maine. I rode two weeks ago and it was still plenty deep to ride off trail. It is about over though.

They blew snow last night on the hill climb location.

Take some pics of the hill and the lineup. Which ski area is it. Do you guys do this every year? --I grew up in the Keene area-- Maybe I could some of my friends to participate at the next one.

Good luck! Take some pics of you and the event for us if you have time. My younger brother was a hill-crosser while there was a few races in Colorado and Wyo years ago. Race day is always a good day!

Thanks for the good words guys :face-icon-small-win

It was kind of lame last year but this year it is supposed to be a lot more interesting. They have a spot you can go wide and smooth or point it up a bump run to cut the corner. They have 5 feet of man made on the trail and it has been raining 3 days so it should be real sloppy. Last year an old ZRT 900 won it becausse it could take the off camber left turn with out lifting a ski better than all the new sleds. Hope the M7 is better for it this year

Doesn't look like my buddies would have to take off their mirrors--I think they might do it next year! Really, it looks like fun!

I was just on the website--alot of last years course speeds were 80 mph+!! One was over 90 mph! --In the section Helpful Hints they give a instruction on how to do a turn out on a hill, funny. --A flagged snowcourse would maybe put all those well-honed trail riding skills to good use, however, it might be more dangerous without any barriers to catch sleds at the bottom. Looks like alot of participation, I'll send my buddies the link.

Your longtrack and deep lugs should really be an advantage in the slushy snow, just make sure to have plenty of ski pressure for turning and keep the throttle pinned!

I pulled the limiter strap up a hole, upped the air in the ski shocks to 70 to keep it from rolling and set the rear float at 125 in the rear holes on my 09 HCR rails. I gave the clutches a good hot soapy bath and rinse. Hope my new shaper runners get here tomorrow for my powder pros or I have to steal some off my friends Dragon.

It has been a monsoon on the 5 feet of man made. There are rumors of mid 80's temps Saturday too. Should be interesting.

They promised it won't be a hill drag this year. Even said a down hill switch back to a smooth long way or bump run short cut. I hope it is as fun as it sounds. They have the smooth go around for the smaller sleds so they can still get everyone up the hill without yard sales.

Enter the radar runs and test your setup--enter multiple classes to get a feel for the track--

The hill climb was pretty fun considering it was the only place I could find snow. It had a downhill roll in start to a banked turn that sent you uphill to 3 gates that had very little stagger, then up a steeper section that was a full throttle off camber left hand sweeper to a blind knoll that was a little bumped up from the last day they were open 2 weeks ago. Not really awsome but better than sitting home on the couch.

This is my second run in the 800 class. I am just coming over the blind knoll. I couldn't keep the inside ski down and had to lift at the knoll.

Wish I had thought to strap the front shock down 2 inches. It would have made the off camber sweeper easier to hold it to the bar.

My track had INSANE hook up. I had to put 150 in my rear float to hold the nose down after I ran the radar run.

I ended up 6th in the 700 stock class out of 49 and 9th in the 800 class out of 81.

This is my friend Carl's run on his Turbo Z1. It has a Boondocker turbo controller and a straight pipe out the turbine. 200 pounds of torque and a planted nose got him fasted Mod sled and fastest run of the day. I was sitting on the knoll and called him to make sure he pointed it for the dirt so he didn't get into the bumps on the right.

Here is a better picture of the track I made. It held up great. None are loose and they are all still sharp after riding around in mud at the ski area.

Thats a better picture of my sled with the rest of the family :face-icon-small-coo

No doubt, this is the only event I do with my M7, everything else is in technical woods. I am just going to keep my track in the attick for next year and work with what I have.

I do need to drop my gearing and and get a pressure regulator to lean it out, she seems kinds rich down low. It always sounds kinda doggy and has no snap compared to my friends 600 IQ.

Thanks for the input.
