high temps

My kid was riding his 2012 RMK Assault and heated it up to about 195. Obviously quite hot.

All seems fine, any suggestions or comments on what this may or can do to the engine?

What he had done was put a new head on and I don't think purged all the air out.

thoughts, comments?

thermostat opens at 120

Hot Lamp on = 230F IDLE/185F WOT

Hot Lamp Flashing/RPM Misfire (Limp mode) = 239F IDLE/208F WOT

I think you'll be ok, just make sure he understands how to watch temps and how quickly these sleds heat up.

I have trained my Girlfriend to watch temps in low snow conditions and told her to throw scratchers down for anything above 155F

I usually tip the sled over to both sides while running after cracking into the coolant system as well as make sure the coolers get warm.

Best way to bleed the sled is park it nose up on the trailer ramp with sled at operating temp and then crack the bleeder screw. To prevent overheating, use scratchers anytime you aren't in pow. Also when riding, I only use rpm and temp screen.

we would shut ours down in spring snow and tree riding when they hit 190, pop open the side panels and pile snow/ice on the tunnel. tree riding in setup conditions you can hit this temp pretty quick. traveling at around 10 mph doesn't kick up much when its hard pack. is the biggest pain on the pro.
