High mileage Apex's

I'm looking at a 06 Apex Mtn and it has 8000 miles. It was owned by a outfitter how used it for cat hunting so it has very easy miles on it. Now what should i look for as far as problems go? I'm new to the 4 stroke world of snowmobiles so help me out.

you might want to change the oil Amazing to think that even with 8k on it, the motor will outlast my 2stroke AFTER mine is rebuilt...

Check out the shock mounts for cracking at the ears, the skid for cracks/being run without hyfax on low/no snow days

In 13000 k you will have to do a valve adjustment

Upper and lower A-Arm bushings and mounts.These wearing out cause the cracking.

grease those steering bushings, and/or replace them. If you've never done it, your Apex is steering too hard.

when i picked up my 07 apex from the dealer. they were servicing an 03 rx1 with 38000 miles on it. they said all thats been done to it was 1 valve adjustment. 1 track and a new primary. it looked very clean to me i couldnt believe the miles

Drive and jack bearings, bearings and bushings in the rear skid
I wouldn't be afraid of the sled though, it's got lot's of miles left

check the jack shaft bearing. mine failed after only 2,000km on my 06 Apex.
it is visible on the belt side.
