Have you read any mountaineering books? That mountain is a beotch on foot. I'm with backcountryislife, I don't see sleds getting a mile up the glacier, let alone find a slope to run a sled on if you wind up at base camp.

Helicopters can barely(can't) fly at those elevations, 800s run like 440s in Colorado at 11000 ft, at 28000 ft maybe a 2 cc, K2 is probably the most dangerous mountain in the world and India/Pakistan have the worst doctor to dare devil ratio in the world.

There's no way they'll get ANYWHERE near 25k. The absolute highest I think he could get is around 19 (not taking ANY of the realities of glacial travel or high mtn ascents into account)

looks like a nasty spine to cross over to get into the high bowl, them some off camber climbing to reach the summit push but I think it's doable!!!

All our smack talk aside... if you can get a sled even close enough to get a good VIEW of K2... man, you'd feel privileged for sure. It's such an amazing mountain. I grew up climbing all of my young life & can't imagine even having the opportunity to get near that thing, much less having the intestinal fortitude to actually try to climb it!

It would be a life changing experience just spending time in that range... you're a lucky dude if that's possible for you!! Don't spoil it by killing yourself or something!!


btw, for the next mission... I hear Cerro torre has yet to be high marked!!!
