High Idle

Hey guys,

I was out for a ride last weekend and now the sled seems to idle at around 2100 rpm. Previously it was around 16-1700.

I'm guessing this could be TPS? or can I adjust the idle with the adjust screws..

you can adjust the idle but it will throw off the TPS setting..

are you sure you dont have a kink in the throttle cable, bind in the linkage...i even know one guy that had the cable slide off the throttle body and get caught..

if all else fails, pull the bodies off and do the TPS setting and see where its at and go from there...

Another thing to keep in mind is that an abnormally high idle can be a sign of an air leak. Maybe have a look at the plugs, and a good look around at your throttle body boots and such while your working on the TPS.

And Sean..... about your status, hating on peeps with running sleds....
THE SEASON IS ALMOST 1/2 OVER!

Great points Dan...don't judge me lol...

Guido, Danbot

you were both right with the high idle. I had a broken intake boot clamp causing an air leak. Must have over tightened it. I also just built a TPS tester from Mountainhorse diagrams.. Worked great.. TPS was definetely out of range. Idle is now perfect at 1600

Thanks to all!
