Looking for places you guys have bought HID/Xenon lighting kits from. There are hundreds if not thousands of these places online. I need to order two kits. Looking for something quality without paying too much. I have a decent place which I can link, but they ship from China so it takes forever.

TIA

I have DDM in my Audi, and I DO NOT recommend them.

Caveat: Audi's are touchy cars with lots of electronic gremlins that are hard to chase down and work-around.

I have DDM's 55w kit and when it works, they're great. It's about 50/50 whether the left headlight is going to fire or not when you turn them on. I even have the code eliminators (another in-line resistor basically, to draw more amperage so the sensors will continue to supply power to the ballast and not drop that headlight). If it doesn't come on, I have to open the hood and bang on the headlight housing a few times, then close it and it'll usually work.

Personally, I'm on the hunt for a better solution myself. I've had the DDM's since January 2010 and haven't had any problems except that they don't always come on. May, or may not be directly related to the Audi however. At this point, I'm gladly going to pay $$$$ to get quality lights in there (probably OEM).

Try switch your left ballast or light bulb with the right one. To see if your problem moves to the right side. I'm 99% sure it's the bulb.

Try this and tell us what happened.

It doesn't follow the bulb or ballast. I swapped parts back and forth 3-4 times when I initially bought them...replaced both ballasts too. Seems it's a DDM/Audi thing unfortunately.

The reason I don't recommend the kits to people is the customer service of DDM is HORRENDOUS! Pre-pay, via PayPal for all warranty stuff...and that's if they'll answer the phone, or do what they tell you they will after they answer the phone. Maybe it's just me... :kev:

Ok! It must be some kind of issue with the car and the ballast. Can you please tell me what model and year of your Audi? A friend of mine put HIDs everywhere in his S6 and he did not even got a warning from the can bus system.

You should try a 35W canbus kit instead.

Peevo, sorry I already bought a kit. Wish I would have known.
Maybe you can explain the 35watt 55watt thing. Seems like a lot of companies are selling 55 watt setups. Can't that do some damage?

It doesn't matter much if it's 35W or 55W. Maybe a little if it's already on the edge.. What's more important that you have good cancelers or a can bus kit.

Hit me up man. PM me price including shipping.

2002 Audi A4, H7 bulbs, only need lows. 4300K. I'd prefer 55w cause the 35w seem, to me at least, to be not much better then my stockers. Slim-style ballast, so it all fits in the stock location?

Peevo... when you say "doesn't matter much" arr you referring to the fact that the 55 watt only pulls 1.7 amps more per bulb (3.4 amps total)... or that there is not much difference in the britness of the bulb??

Magna light by Larson Electronics.

They are out of Texas and all American.

Our snowmobile club installed a set of HID's on the light bar of the sno-cat and are very, very surprised at what we received. Their customer service was awesome as well. We had to switch to a different lens to change our light broadcast and they sent them to us no charge to keep us happy.

Great company!
