HEY PEEPS... WHATS HAPPENING WITH YOUR 900's THIS SUMMER ... OR ARE YOU STILL RIDING?

I'm hopefully getting mine back together. I bought it in the spring, the next winter I rode it maybe 5 times. Then I pulled the engine to replace motor mounts and the cracked front crossmember. I got it almost all back together and hurt my back and had to stop. I haven't really touched it since and that was almost 3 years ago. So my goal is to finish getting it together, finish installing the nitrous & purge, wideband... get it dialed in.

I also just picked up a 95 Indy 500 EFI that was my grandpa's sled. It'll be a backup sled, sled for a friend to ride, or if I don't can't afford gas in my 975 and I still want to ride. This sled will get reverse installed, probably plastic skis, e-start w/remote. My grandpa always joked around about how it'd be cool to remote start his sled so I want to see if I can do it.

still deciding

My 9 is still in parts in the garage. I am still in Afghanistan, but have been putting prices together to decide if its feasable to rebuild or part it out and buy something else. Got a quote for $420 for the 09 plastics. Would still have to find 2 side panels. Tried getting ahold of Inday Dan via email and phone and havnt had any luck yet. Want to get a price for a TM1 and 06 pistons. Those are the biggest parts I need.

Def can say that it has been a great sled since I bought it with 242 miles. Doesnt even have 1100 on it yet. And last ride of last season, week before I left for Afghan she gave me the snap-crackle and POP, and let the clutch go, as it did the well known pto breakage. :usa2:

Two 900's ran flawless last year and are ready to go. The 975 turbo is becoming a 900 turbo. Just waiting to get the new cylinders back from Indydan.

If you can't get a hold of dan I had the same done to my sled this year, a TM1 and 06 piston kit. Sent the whole motor to him and had him go through the whole thing. He charged me about $2200 for the TM1 and the 06 piston kit plus the time and labor along with honing and high pressure hot wash. The TM1 is around $1695 but you will have to get in touch with him for exact prices. Try sending him a pm on here as well I have communicated with him some that way

hey all you regulars, where ya getting your cylinders re-plated? i got a shop here that does it for 300 plus tax/welding. Or another guy that sleeves :/...

This week:

- installed TCP Bumper (YAAAA!!!!! thanks Rideguy)
- holtz a-arms all way around
- 07' spindles
- new fuel tank, safety recall freebee
- back to 2" riser from 5".
- gripper skiis
- removed all decals
- DIY ghetto intake, purchased from Rideguy
- tether kill switch

900 turbo cylinders just got back from Dan installing threaded inserts in head bolts. Guidoxpress is powder coating my SLP head. Hopefully she will be together in about two weeks.

I think all I have to do to the 9 is clean up the clutches and power valves... other than that, she's ready for another year!

i have been working on a few of my 900s this summer...but got bad news for my upcoming sled season...i just got orders to KOREA (Airforce), and i have to leave in Feb 2013...for a year!! not remotely happy, but in my 13 yrs in the airforce its bound to happen with a 20 yr career...so not sure if i will be finishing my sled builds (currently 2 builds and 2 updating builds in progress) was hoping to have 3 of them done by xmas..but not sure if ill waste the time now.

ill post some pics and whatnot shorly, in texas right now for fire dept training.

--completely built an 05 rmk 900 166 track from the ground up. called the "budget 9" with lots of trick parts..cost around $2000 total and fully modded out. After a tunnel wrap next week, i will post a pic on here.

--in the process of building my 06 rmk 900 turbo..working on piping layout now. previous (pre turbo) build is in my sig if you havent seen it.

--lost a head stud in my 05 rmk 975 (in my sig) and ingested coolant in the cyliner...ran SIIIICCCCK before that happened...Z-Man hooked me up with a cylinder to replace mine, so will knock that out sometime soon.

--updating some things on my 06 rmk 700 (in my sig), pro taper bars, hand gaurds..just some small things...was gonna get deep into it this year and install a dragon tunnel and wide running board kit on it...but some stuff got in the way..then was gonna do next year but will be in korea now..so who the hell knows when i will get to the Dragon tunnel conversion on this thing.

whoa bro that sucks......btu at least you'll get some drinking in over there

if you need someone to ride yer sleds, im sure i could handle it

I have the 975 kit and had a cylinder go down last winter. Sent it out to Millennium Technologies for repair and replating. Pulled the injectors out to send to Witch Hunter for clean a flow check as I am not totally sure why it stuck a cylinder???? Left cylinder stuck right looks perfect.

Get it back together and sell it. The 975 was fun but time to move on.

Seth, what is that kitty cat doing is such close proximity to your Polaris??? The green might leech across :face-icon-small-sho

Sean, sorry to hear about the lack of riding in your future bro, just keep your early retirement in mind lol.

I should have my 13 Pro 163 by the end of the month, whenever my dealer gets a chance to un-crate it for me.
My 900 is for sale as parts or complete (not running). I'll no doubt still be active in this section for some time to come though, the 900 was a big part of my life for 6 years. It's simply time for new iron, and I couldn't be more excited!

Right on Dan you will love the pro ! Boost it and it's just like the power of a 900 or better and not a heavy beast ! Either way you won't miss the old tank I sure don't ! Maybe Sean and Zane will sell all thier 900s and get one good sled someday too!

Sean that sucks about your tour in Korea but at least they aren't shooting at you guys over there and it's not a chithole desert that's 120 degrees

Mark started looking for a 'lightweight' alternative after I bought my 09 700 last fall... he didn't want to spend as much as I did so he found this low mile 06 M7 for $3K and rode it all through the spring... The 700s are both noticeably lighter for those days that the 166 isn't needed, but still fun to ride and fun to switch back and forth to the 900s. His 900 has about 3600 miles on it and mines approaching 4300 miles... still love the power and the machines, but don't want to wear them out prematurely on the spring concrete as we ride until there's nothing but dirt left.

He's had both his sleds over at my new house so we can tinker on them from time to time and I have more room in my garage, lol:D

I'm definitely looking forward to season #4 on my 900... this is the longest I have kept a single sled to ride on a regular basis... I'm excited for the season!

Thanks man, I probably won't ever boost it but Im anxious to ride a light modern sled! The wait is slowly killing me

6 years on my 900 is my record, but I will never do it again. I have decided to upgrade every 2 - 3 years depending on mileage from now on.

975 needs new pistons every 1000 miles.

Nah, I'll keep them and buy a pro next year. Might sell one 900. Like to keep spares so I can take friends out who don't have their own sleds.

Thanks. I would love to make it to 1,000 miles!!! Hasn't happened yet before it sticks the left (PTO) side. Put in new right one about 300 miles ago.
