Hey Guys and Gals!

I live In Alberta and think its time to do the top end in my 04 800 Renegade. It has 4500km and a warm not hot Comp test showed 102/109lbs. Have some friends that are willing to tackle the job and it was suggested weisco pistons? Im guessing they know whats good cause they have done there own and a few others. When we get get to it any other suggestions to have done like reeds? Or any other good upgrades while its apart? I was looking at royal dist but could not find the kit I would want? Any info would be appreciated D

Delete the oil injection and premix. simple to do and could save you a lot down the road as far as having an oil injection failure. Also boyseen reeds are a good idea and will prevent you from having your reed boots delaminating which is a known problem on the revs. Also double stack the base gaskets (2 6 hole base gaskets instead of just one) This will lower your port timing and give you a little more on the top end of your power range. My rev felt like it fell flat on its face after about 3/4 throttle, but after double stacking the base gaskets it has consistant power all the way through the throttle position.

Depends you your elevation, but that's low even for 4000', so I'm sure it's due. I've had good luck with OEM pistons, actually, much better than some aftermarket, but I've heard MCB is a good choice.
I've never heard of a failure with the injection system. Some guys try to cut their weight or racers that need some extra protection for high power.
Changing from the stock gaskets creates some extra work, head must be milled to adjust for loss of compression and there will most likely be a loss in mileage while trail riding, as port timing has the biggest gain at high rpms.
Good Luck.

Thanks, elevation here is 2200apox I believe, Near Edmonton. Yes I have no intentions of deleting the Oil injection been the best sled I have ever owned and been trouble free for the most part. It was suggested to me go with weisco slugs and going to look in to reeds, seems to me Boysen is a good brand? Im thinking needs some work now but doesn't look like it has 4500km took good care of it. and if can get the clutches looked at or replace the springs D
