Hey Carbon fiber manufactures.

Not a bad idea. If anyone does composites, I can supply you with epoxy and hardener at a good price and I'd be willing to give you some if you'd make me one for test!

Have FUN!

I make these, I have one for the dragons and the pros are just a little wider. I get some pics

Yep, the whole side. All you need is the coolers. The side pieces are kevlar reinforced where the suspension plates and chaincase bolt on. Does anyone know if we'll be able to buy the new pro running boards alone from polaris?

i was trying to find that out myself some one told me you could buy the burandt version by themselves but haven't confirmed that

because it seems to me its between those and air frames for my 11
if you could buy the CB version for the $250 thats a less expensive option for folks

ps who's running boards are those on that sled ?

The Burandt boards are listed on / in the Pure Polaris Accessories website / store. What I don't like about them is the powder coating they chose to use. They should have gone with Teflon Hard Anodizing in my opinion.

I made those as well, they work great but on the sticky snow days they turn into popsicles. One swift kick and they come clean, and i've never slipped off, just back a little. I have made the carbon tunnels with the boards then added better boards, which worked pretty good. I don't think the new polaris boards would hold snow like mine do, just because of the traction design. Haven't seen the "CB" boards yet.

Mtnclmr, those are really nice looking.

How many miles do you have on that setup? Excuse my ignorance but my fear of carbon revolves around catastrophic failure versus yielding (bending) of aluminum. Being involved in Motogp (motorcycle Roadracing world championships) I have seen carbon used for the last 20 years, the early stuff was scary the modern carbon is really impressive, although catastrophic failures still happen.

To be clear, I am NOT an authority or producer, just an experienced end user, and curious on your thoughts.....

Nice work. Do you have any larger pictures or more close up?

I bought a 155 tunnel with damaged side and a pro bulkhead to build a project sled using this method. hmm.. maybe i should just ship the parts to you and have you complete the tunnel for me.

Thanks, I only have maybe a few hundred miles on this sled. Got a couple seasons on another one I did. You are right when carbon does break it usually shatters. Kevlar on the other hand can break but will never come apart, you could do a full length piece of kevlar in between the carbon rather than just the bolted areas. It would take a pretty good hit to break the carbon though, maybe a direct hit on the side to a pointy rock or something like that.

Racerjb- We might be able to do something like that. I'll try to get you some better pics.
