Helping out your stuck buddies

I always help out, even strangers And I will help on a hill..but only after I am sure the rider can't get it on his own, but I park away from the bottom of the hill and walk up the stuck riders track(he has already upset the snow in his climb so it should be stable)..

almost always help out buddies or anyone else that looks like they need it....if they look like they know what they're doing, i may wait a bit to see...especially someone that is obviously new and in the problem over their head....if i'm riding with some of the turbo boys/mod-sled guys, it's probably too risky for both of us to try, but if they wave me up, i'll figure something out....

Our group has a rule... you stick it on a hill, you get it out.

Flat- yeah I'll help.

Personally I don't want somebody trying to ride up to me and risk setting off a slide. Better safe than sorry.

i help out on the flats or in the trees but on a hill your on your own. mind you im ususally the one on the hill stuck.... i find the snobunje are very affective!

There are certain folks in my group that seem to get selective snow blindness, and do not seem to see me when I get stuck.........

As I get older, it is more and more likely that I get this same affliction. It comes and goes, but it really seems to be at its worst when I get close to someone who is stuck. I almost go completely blind for a few seconds until I am over the hill and no longer can be of help.......... Then miraculously, my vision comes back 100%

Seriously though, I never expect AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, I do not want help when I am something steep.

Wow, I hear ya there. I've always thought it to be an extra challenge to save someone. But now with my old old age, I find it to be more time to sit back and have a beer. aahhhh:beer;:beer;:beer;

I don't ride with any morons, and we don't have any avy-prone areas where we ride so yeah, I help folks out and usually smile while doing it.

A day in the snow (even digging folks out) beats most any day doing anything else, except maybe relaxing on the beach in Maui.

We all kinda take turns helping each other out of stucks, Some seem to need a lot more help than others. If your easy to get to someone will come over to help, then the rest will come over to watch and heckle after they are done playing. If your way up there or in somewhere you shouldn't have been, we'll probably help you anyway since we likely told you it looked doable and to go for it. :)

X2.

one man/sled at a time on steep avy prone hill sides. all other stucks we help each other unless it gets to a rediculous amount for the same guy getting stuck....., then might let him suffer a bit.

Well put....pretty well sums it up for me too. I never ride by a stuck unless it will endanger us. Then I will sit and watch just in case some bad does happen. Like was said also, the steeper it is (unless 4st turbo insane shoots) the easier it is to get yourself out anyway.

i dont mind helping buddies out its all part of riding but if ur in a chute i rather you do it yourself a lot safer that way. i also dont mind giving people that arent riding in our group a hand aswell..
