Help with seat repair?

The trim on my seat has split. Is there an easy way to repair it or at least keep it from getting worse? I tried putting superglue on it:confused: but I must have hit it with my foot and pulled it off. Has anyone else successfully fixed trim before it has gotten out of hand.

Also, I noticed a couple threads have started to come out, should I just find someone who knows how to sew to mend it before it comes out further? (The wife doesn't sew, nor do I)

There's a guy in Boise that does awsome wrok on seats. He can replace the foam, making it lighter; make it taller, put non slick material, etc... I can get his contact info if you are interested.

Shoe goo will hold it, but if it's in the budget have raised it to the height of the bun and recovered, you'll be very happy with it.

Hardware stores have a product called VLP. Been happy with it for years on sleds, boats, atv's, and heavy equipment. Good stuff. Good luck. EW

x2 works great...I have used this stuff for 30 yrs, it's been around for awhile and for a good reason.

++Shoe Goo. Used it on my seat when I stabbed it with my snow shoe poles turned the wrong way last season. Drr! Only thing is now I got some big ugly yellow goop holes in the back.

I was thinking of trimming up some kinda patch and putting it over it before the season starts.

Thanks Eric, I was looking for something like that to try, i'll find some this weekend and try it out.

Anyone repaired a seat just where the threads are coming out before it gets too bad? Is it pretty simple (for someone who can sew)?
