Help with loading on sled deck

This morning I shortened the ramp to 8' and put some ski runners on it which extend over the beavertail. Since the beavertail is 16" my total ramp is 9'4. Loading and unloading is very simple now.

LIFT your truck,

I'm not that guy anymore. 35" and stock height is big enough for me, in fact the stockers go back on once the snow flies.

I've had 2 trucks since this one:

Good to hear you got it worked out. That ramp is pretty flat anyways. Last year I was loading 8' ramp 1' foot beavertail into the back of my dodge 3500 6" lift 35" tires. Very steep, but very easy to load once you figure out exactly what you need to do. Takes very little run, and not much throttle. Never had a problem with the beavertail hanging up the skis loading either, they were bare metal. But the difference of angle was the problem for sure.

you might have problems turning with a trailer and the sled deck on.... that is why you should have deleted the beaver tail... you are going to need a hitch extension .... it looks like it is sticking to far out with the beaver tail

Even with a Bobtail, you will have issues with trailers on a shortbox truck.
Pulling a squarenosed trailer, I have to put a hitch extension on to clear.

Good to see that you solved you problem.

I'll need a hitch extension for the V-nose trailer and this deck. If I build another deck, I'll definitly make it shorter. I think I would do the beavertail again, just make flatter.
I forgot to mention that I did end up putting 1 more support in the beavertail to support the skis as they slide across.
