Going to the dealer Friday morning....

Door #1

2009 XR 1200 Renegade X....add a turbo and set up for fast trail/lake racer for here in MN.....than long track to a 146/15/1.25 for MN.(required traction) and a 146/16/2.25 for the mountains for some hi elevation tuning/riding... it is obviously track limited...80+ mph track speed still wont suck...LOL

DOOR #1 it is!!

Door #2

2009 XP 800R Summit X 154 Hill Climb edition...with the wide ski stance and trick shocks it would be the perfect MN./MTN. sled combo...add SHR 860R (max hp package) and modify the stock track for trail/lake racing (cut down to 14.5" wide and a 1.25" lug using a porta band!!! works TRICK FYI) add 150+ studs and hang on...then when its time to come out west...a 156/16/2.5 bolts right in (thanks Montana powder)...uncouple sway bar add 14.6-1 RKT domes and SHR specific gearing and clutching and pound the mountains....

$$$$ isnt the problem...SOLD both of my sleds...have cash in hand for either project...not worried about weight..just the pro/cons are opposite of each other...LOL

I am litterly torn on what to buy...one is the future of things to come (going really fast in MN. doesnt suck either-LOL)..one is the bread/butter of what I love to DOO and with the HC model I get the best of both worlds...BJ

BJ- Behind door #2 awaits your new ride! Allows you to showcase what you are doing at present (860). The 1200 is a look at the future for sure, and could be set up great for MN. Your comparison to a T-Nytro is bang on & with a 141 & boost it would be a mtn wheelie machine for sure.:D

Doors #1 I say go big or stay home. You already have pep show casing all your great motor mods (witch is best in class) Now from a business $ stand point Go to the Door#1 And you get that thing figured out like you have the rev 2 strokes then Wow!! I will have one here in WY for shore!!! Good luck. What ever you decide the sled will fly!!!!!!!!!! Just my 1.5 cents:D

Once you have boost you never will ride anything but. I think BRP have a gem waiting to be polished off with a turbo. Almost looks like the engineers had something in mind with all that room and a single throotle body. Also it has been rumoured that there will be a mid season release of a new Mack Z with boost .BRP know how to boost look at the SEa Doo

If I had yer money I'd burn mine!

Do the 2 stroke. Let the MCX boys blow up 10 motors getting the 4 poppers scienced out for us lay-people next year when it's BOUND to show up in a mountain version.

Go 4 stroke, you've got the 2 smokes figured out, give yourself a little bit of a challenge and try something new.

4s

I'd like to have someone guinee pig with the 1200...If it weren't a 1st year Rotax, I'd have some confidence...but...even the fact that its a 4 stroke isn't all that confidence inspiring.

Turbo'd turn-key machines are the ticket...I hope....

Although its not "drastically" lighter (9-21# depending on model) than the Nytro..it will hopefully at least start the struggle for the light, reliable, 4 stroke that some of us mountain guys are chasing. ;)

2009 Nytro XTX = 542# (144x15x1.25)
2009 MXZ Renegade (NON-X) = 533# (137x16x1.25)
2009 MXZ Renegade X = 521#

Not sure where the X loses it weight? Shocks? Front suspension components?

I hope the Doo 4 stoke does work.. Maybe it will get Poo and Cat a bit more serious and introduce some contenders (along the weight front of things). And I hope they build a Summit version next year..

I would hold off on the thumper for a year or so, who knows when a turbo will be available. The resale on the 800 will not necessarily be better but you would be able to turn it quicker and easier.

On the other hand, a turbo Doo would be rare and may draw more interest. I am sure you could get a hold of Mr. Van Amburg and have him make up an extension for the XR chassis to stretch that thing out, remember you said money wasn't an issue:beer;

I am a 2-stroke fan (for now) and I am biased but whatever you decide, it will be the right choice.

I thought about ordering the hillclimb edition but didn't like the wide stance so I went with a 09 154X again.

Good luck

-Jeremy

At first I was going to say exactly what daveb said but since you are in the mod business shouldn't you get the thumper and build new stuff around that. Maybe you could get in bed with mcx and the doo development.
