HELP! / Problem

I am leaving for the Mtns. on Friday for a week. Sled (2005 M-7) has been at the dealership for 3 weeks and they are stumped. Sled ran fine at end of year last year and this year on first ride not so good. The problems is as follows: when running at 1/2 throttle, does just fine. As soon as I pinch it to get the back end loose to point me up-hill, there is a bad bog and it seems to be missing. If I hold the throttle pinned, the missing continues. (it remindes me of when my Mtn. Cat would get choked out by deep snow on right handed hard carves). Dealer also noticed that there is a very bad bog (loading up) when going from idol to full throttle..... O.k....fuel pressure is good, ECU has been re-flashed, power valves are A-o.k., cables are proper length. In short, all the obvious stuff has been accounted for....

Any help on where to go next would be appreciated. Dealership needs advice and are not very responsive (bad news if the sled is at the dealership as I'm the best mechanic I know) but I'm stumped on this one........

HELP!!!

Carb, or EFI?

Oh, and I'd be YANKING my sled away from that dealer!

3 WEEKS????? I'd also be talking to my local Artic cat factory rep about the dealer.....

sounds electrical. try the tps or i have heard that the wires in the tail light rub together and ground out the sled.

I've seen some polaris sleds act this way. The problem was a bad stator. Swap it out with another one and see if it goes a way.

You said that the fuel pressure was fine but have you checked it at idle or under acceleration? I would also look at the tps to see if it sweeps smoothly with a diagnostic tool attached. If that is good I would be looking at swapping the stator to eliminate that possibility. Good luck I know how frustrating these problems can be!

I'm no mechanic so you won't get an tech info from me, but heres a thought if your sled hasn't ran good from the start of the year check your air box and air intake. I have had mice and chipmunks stock pile food and build nest in the stangest places.

Did not the M7 have a issue with rubbing thru some wires on the steering column? I had a couple freinds that had this issue--could not find the same type of issue. Come to find out it was rubbed thru wires.

Just some more input.

And they were not easily found. Ask MOB on here.

H20SKE...

stator 1st place i would look...then close hood and look thru vents to see if the rubber snorkle that connects the plenum to the airbox is staying ridged or is it collapsing
