Installed the Drop in Kit this last few days and went to start the sled up last night. Sled tried firing up twice with a couple spit and sputters and then nothing.. Checked a few things over and made sure all my connections were good. Checked sparked plugs and they were really really wet. Which tells me the sleds getting fuel. Also checked the spark on the plugs, while the mag side had strong spark the pto side had less but decent spark. I plan on changing spark plugs again after work and trying to work on it and hoping for the best. With that, what does everyone reccommend to check now? Leaving for cooke city feburary 6th and dont want to be stressed out until then trying to get it running. Any help would be GREATLY appreicated.

Thanks in advance

Try new plugs before anything else. Even if they spark out of the cylinders, it may still not start. Happened to me after a couple of breakin cycles post drop in kit install, engine wasn't cleared yet of fogging oil and breakin lube. JMPE. From there, start checking electronics, plug caps back, check TPS, etc.

thanks, plan on trying new plugs tonight after work. hoping she fires up and dont have to worry about anything else. how would i go about checking the electronics and tps?

If you removed the steering overstructure make sure you put the grounds back on where the bumper attaches.

update on this thread* this is not due to the drop in kit in any way shape or form. talked on the phone with Riley and there was coolant either in his crank case or a gasket was pinched in install. he is looking further into it last night and today and i'm sure will chime back in with what he finds

Jkinzer is correct.. While putting the head on last night I accidentally pinched an o-ring n it was not a true seal allowing antifreeze into my crank. Which is the ONLY reason I couldn't get my sled to run. After talking to jermey at outdoor equipment ( who was a HUGE help ) I started tearing apart n found my bad o ring right away. Replaced both o rings just to be safe n with some new plugs the sled started on the 2nd pull. Let me say this. The sled on the stand sounds CRISP. I can't wait to get out to Cooke n rip it. Thnks to RKT for the amazing kit n to Jeremy who saved my weekend n helped me find the problem over the phone..

Always apply a good coating of white lithium grease (not the aerosol kind), on all those o-rings. Helps them move around into the correct position and helps to keep them from getting pinched/cut.

Maybe you did do this, but if not, for future reference! :)

Xc6rider - thanks for the tip. Did not use any grease the first time. I did use it the 2nd time and what do you know it worked ha. Kits running strong
