Help me decide on skis for the new pro

Pick any color combo you want from him, I run black on black and it looks better than the aligator back style gripper to me.

They don't wash out like a gripper, they hold a line, they get on top of the snow much better, and when you turn it is like power steering. They are built by one of the most top notch guys in the industry, and he builds them out of his garage custom made for you and your sled. I have yet to hear someone not like this ski that has tried it.

hm, you have me thinking. i'm planning on buy in a pc8 next year for my wife and for me to just try it out and its going to need new skis as the stock cat ones are a joke. maybe these might be what i try. if i like them i could put them on the rmk as well.

No one out there running Simmons gen 2? I have a pair in my garage with skidoo fittings and was thinking about trying to make them fit my RMK Assault...

Another vote for the stock grippers. A little suspension tweaking will help the pushing. At least it did for me. But I did have a pair of Powder Pros on my M8, a little hard to turn when going slow on hard pack, but they work great in most other conditions.

Only site you need when it comes to skis.

AMEN TO THAT! For the non believers - they are a modified tri-keel ski with a raised rear section that allows instant countersteer without sticking like the lame Grippers and don't shower you with snow either when sidehilling/carving. They hold a line sidehilling like nothing on the planet (thanks to the tri-keel design with deep center keel). Those who diss on Mods have no clue as they've never ridden them. Everyone who rides them buys them.

I will be - was getting showered today by the stock grippers (LOTS of overhood cascade concrete today) and they were pushing quite a bit too. Both my other sleds have Mods and I shoulda taken one of them today! The only good thing I'll say about the Grippers is that they are "adequate" and they are light and wide so they do float up well. Sidehilling and countersteer initiation leave a lot to be desired tho compared to Mods!

HAVE FUN!

I love my stock 2011 Pro just the way it is. But I am just an average mountain rider on an average day.:usa2:

Thanks guys for the info. Im leaning toward the Mods, cuz i already know i dont like the grippers for the way i ride.
Thanks again.

I might have to try the mods, I had powder hounds on my 07 IQ RMK, I liked them a lot better than the grippers for sidehilling, they would cut right through other trenches/lines when sidehilling.

Had MTX's back grippers now. Spend time getting your suspension set up and you can change the way the ski's handle a ton. even with mtx's my sled pushed. then on the trails it darted like no other. so back to the grippers then i played around and got my skid dialed in a lot better not very happy. Gonna try the MTX's here soon again but going to cut down the keel on them a bit
