help me decide on a snowcat haha

alright i know im a pain in the *** and a newbie but i need some serious help deciding on a snowcat i have one guy with an 06 m7 with a 1000 cutler motor in it but seems like that would destroy the diamond drive? and yet im trying to decide if i should just go with something stock? im a polaris guy but im told artic cat is the longest lasting motor and easiest to side hill im 170 pounds so i cant decide whats gunna be to heavy i just wanna go where my friends do nothing extremely crazy like shutes or anything but hill climbing. i have probably 7500 to spend so if u guys can help me to decide id appreciate it alot!!!! thanks!!!

Get yourself a 09 or 2010 M8 with a can and low miles, add gas and oil and flog it. Or if your a polaris guy get yourself a Dragon 700.These are both reputable sleds for being reliable and you won't have a problem handling either of those sleds. You should also be able to find one of these well within that budget. Keep an eye on KSL classifieds or here on Snowest classifieds. If you just want to ride and get out there to have fun then why jump into a world of tuning and potential problems with a big mod sled? Just my .02.

Sleds

Just a thought, but if you have $7500, why not look at a 1 to 2 year new holdover? Ski-doo has some nice pricing right now on Summit holdovers, both P tek and E tek. Nothing like new and warranty.

haha i have to give skidoo some props they have a good sled with little maintenance just the top ends and thats all really and the bulkheads crush easy but i dont want a mod sled just somethin like a dragon and if i decide i wanna mod it then i can in the future but idk theres to many damn sleds to choose from haha thanks guys for your info anymore would be much appreciated

Its more the cranks in the skidoos than anything, went through a couple of them on my last build over the span of 4000miles (see below).

Good call on going with something stock, why buy somebody elses mod project when you can make your own and know the history of it. Both M8's and D7's are reliable and make a great motor to mod later down the road.

Start with a 600 it will make you a better rider in the long run. Does't matter witch brand the power is good in all the models Imo the smotheness of power band will let you make mistakes and still have fun on hills and they are more reliable all around than the 800s pull rope and go.
