HELP! I want to know all problems with the XP

I am thinking of buying one Friday and I just want to know ALL of the problems associated with these. Just an honest answer is all I want.

I know about the hand warmers, my dealer assures me that he has a clutch setup that saves the belt, I guess I'll check the driveshaft when I head down Friday. I just wanna know what problems that these sleds are having without having to read through 1000s of posts that have been tainted by bashing. I need a new sled or I am done for the season and the snow has just gotten good!

Thanks in advance for all of your input!:beer;

Stuff I've seen.

So far from my eyes I've seen:
2008 REV-XP
1. Not enough weight in primary clutch
2. Weak driver shaft welds
3. bad handwarmers
4. I saw today: broken rear suspension links. (two aluminium bars that connect lower rear shock to the top of rear arm).
5. Miss adjusted oil injection
6. Air cleaner gets clogged with powder.
7. Rear tunnel bag flies off if you ride on any whoops.
8. Buttons on info center loose the magnet and change ettings while riding
9. Primary clutch burns a hole in the side cover if it lays on its side while it is running.
10. "Y" pipe bolts falling out

Not too bad though, always little stuff happens. :camera:

Thats all for now vern. :face-icon-small-ton

I LOVE MY REV-XP!

I have had the handwarmers, clutching issues which I am still working out, but the belts have been covered under warranty.

I love the handling of the sled, some do some dont, but as long as my dealer keeps fixing my problems I will be riding this sled.

400 miles xp 154 x model hps can no problems except for handwarmers
just remember they all have some sort of problem no matter who you are or what you ride, my .02

Hand warmers work. But it backfires with them on. I leave them off.

My drive shaft seems to be welded. I inspected closely and it has a small weld bead all the way around. The weld bead is recessed in not out.

Have 550 miles.

Would buy another in a minute. Xp 163 HPS can

hey you posted this in the wrong section! you should of put it in the yamaha section! apparently they have all the answersand wisdom! lol. great sled, just minor issues with clutching and a few odds and ends. i would buy one again in a heart beat!

xp

Not one issue so far with mine, but my dealer had the clutches right from the start and had added weight etc., he also had fixed the intake/snow issue, and had warned my to not "crank" and the handlebars until updated. No belt issues, just screams........He also had the torsion bar out before I picked it up.........You gotta have a great dealer, and they need to know how you ride........
