Help I still cant get my m7 running

it starts and idles normal. but throttle response is VERY sluggish and only the Mag side part of the Y pipe gets hot.

when riding it revs to 5800-6000rpm then no further like it is being limited or governed.

the injectors are both squirting the plugs have good spark there is air available. so the only things left are timing and compression

I dont know how to check timing but the compression seems WAY down

93/103 if I add a Light oil it rises to 115/115. Dealer says this is not necessarily bad a "tad low but not bad" were his words.

that seems really low to me...

can reeds lower compression 10 psi? I have the carbs off and as soon as I can get back to it I will check the reeds.

any help please let me know I want to go again thursday and friday.

m7

i am no m7 expert. but the problem sounds familiar. first of if its fuel injected it has throttle body's not carbs. if you have fuel and spark. check to be sure both slides on the throttle body's are lifting. we had this problem on my brothers sled it is a carburetor Polaris but it would idle fine and when you start to open it up they sound like they are running on 1 cylinder. and only one side of the y pipe will get hot. the compresion issue is not that big of a deal depending on miles they will get that low.

let me know if that helps.

A buddy of mine just put 110 octane in his 1000 cat and it wouldn't run right. Don't know if you did that but just a thought. That compression is low but it should still run like that. Compression should be about 120 per cylinder. Is your exhaust valve servo working? Exhaust valves clean?

I was always told on two strokes your compression should never be more then 10 psi. between cylinders. If it exceeds this the motor is out of balance to much and will drop fuel supply to lower side. Sounds like what's happening to your sled.

this sounds just like my buddies king cat. it would alway start and run fine but it would bog and was wery sluggish. check every under the hood and it wouldnt go away. even try to get rid of it with a BD box help a little but didnt fix it turned out the compression was 100/130. talk to are mechanic and he said it was time for a little freshing up (new top end). took the top end off and there was fuel blow by all the way down the pistons. if it has a lot of miles it may be time to just rebild the top end.

sounds just like a friends of mine. what we found was small chunk of a branch got stuck in the reed. we replaced the reeds even though they looked ok that was 2 years ago sled still running great. hope you get it solved

problem solved (I think)

sounds like sledbud has it right.

I finally figured out how to get the throttle bodies off and found a broken reed.

trying to find one ASAP dealers dont carry them in stock.

thanks for all you input and help!
