Help!!! Fuel issues?

I just went through some issues with my sled. Basically it had an external fuel pump and internal one. the external was always loud and stuff. the sled would after a climb die when i was coming back down the hills. it would pop a bit during WOT. getting into boost it would give odd stumbles, or hesitations and such. Odd thing was is i have no idea how it even ran...

So I got looking at it all and not knowing that it had a internal one. I opened the tank. found the pump and checked it. it was not pumping fuel. hmm odd. so I disect the whole odd unit that yamaha has and I tried the pump by its self. it does pump! so I'm not sure but i'd go on a limb to say that the plastic filter thingy that the pump pumps into was plugged and my external pump was sucking all it could through it.

My fix was ditch the intank pump and add about 3-4" of regular fuel hose in there. now it runs off only my external pump which is a high performance pump anyways... and its much quieter. revs so smooth and no boost stumbling or odd hesitations

up-high did you have a fun ride up st merry's this past week? (just figured to creep on yeah a bit LOL reconize the bike)
Wasn't me. Not allowed to ride til next winter! :face-icon-small-sad:frusty::censored:

Added another pickup hose in the tank for more fuel flow the floats and everything in the carbs looked good

hmm well hopefully it does it. your a/f should be I'm told 11-12:1 or 11.5 in boost and usually cruising itll be anywhere from 10.5-13 ish ive seen on my apex so far

should be 11.5 getting really rich to best 12-12.5 on boost wide open, idle anywhere from 13-16 mid range 13-14.
