I have a 06 rmk 900 151 snow check
Thinking about doing a shock swap, is walker evan the way to go or is there a better option.. i am 6'2'' and 230lbs

A lot of people like the Walker Evans, a lot don't, including me. I've just never been a fan. I favor coil over shocks

I went with Fox Zero Pros....superb shock, great durability & reliability

I agreee, in part with RMK2112, but need to clarify.

I'm not a fan of the Walker Evans Air Shocks for the 900's... especially as an aftermarket "upgrade"..

I am a huge fan however of the Walker Evans Coil spring Needle shocks... Compression adjustable, dual rate springs, large diameter shafts and excellent quality construction... Especially for the money. (about $625-650/pair)

Their are other shocks that are even higher quality like the Z-Broz or Fox EVOL-X...or even Ohlins (hard to get in the USA for the polaris mountian sleds).

The Ryde FX aluminum rebuildable shocks ON your sled now are top notch shocks... when valved correctly, I'd put them up against just about any other monotube/IFP shock. Definately better than the WE-Air shocks you are referring to.

OR.

Find someone that is upgrading their 2011 ProRMK front shocks and swap them out.

Fox Zero Pros from Carls Cycle valved for your weight, riding style, etc. I've installed more than a dozen sets over the past couple years...all have been extremely happy.

BTW, I'll take your old shocks if you're going to toss them.

Ryde FX properly valved and sprung work great (some say as well) as the high dollar "upgrade" wich are also spendy to repair when needed.

The way I ride I like the cheapness of the RFX,and easy replacement parts...

second dibs on your old ones.......lol

If you are talking about front shocks a good choice is fox zero pros or walker needles with rezzy/dual-triple rate springs. Or for the rear/rear depends on type of riding. I have a walker needle with comp adjustable which use for spring and playing around in the jumps as they do tend too leak a bit when very cold out. And for race and big bumps/moguls I have the original PS5 that was revalved for my weight and style of riding. It has both high/low speed comp adjust which I love for when going from trail riding to playing from this guy here http://www.shocktec.ca/

And it handles just as good, if not better then the walker needle with a bonus low speed comp also.

anyone know what Carls charges to re-valve the FOZ ZERO PROS...a set of 2, front shocks...??
