help! do i need to put in hollow pins?

i am a flatlander going to west yellowstone on wednesday with a 2007 xrs800 short track. am i ok leaving the stock pins in it and just adjusting the clickers to 4 or 5 or do i need to put in the hollow pins? will it make much of a diffference? thanks in advance for any help
