HELP changing A-arm on 08 XP

How do I get the lower A-arm off of the ski on my XP, it looks as if I have to press it off...can this be rite? I have the A-arm and the ski off the sled and stumped on how to get it the rest of the way

Removing Ball Joint

I dont have my sled in front of me but for some reason i believe that there is a retaining clip on the top side of the spindle. A circlip or something like that. Might be in there kinda good though. A ball joint press works great and if its not too terribly tight you can probably tap it out using a socket the right size. Hopefully something i said helps.

I replaced my left lower A-arm and yes, you have to press in the joint and press, or beat, out the joint. I can't remember the size of socket that I used, but it's not too difficult. I put a pinch of diswashing soap in the A-arm hole hole to help ease 'er in. Just make sure to protect the threads on the spindle!

I just got done putting back on my a arms. Like stated above there is a retaining clip on top which is pretty easy to take off. I believe the size socket for the nylon nut is 19mm. If you loosen that up. You can take a rubber mallet and beat it out. To help put it back in like trinitypowder said put some sort of a lubricant on the a arm. Place the ball joint in the freezer for about a half hr. And if you can put alittle heat to the a arm but thats not a big deal. Then you should be able to push the joint back in.

Thanks, you guys have all been a big help, but how do I get the ball bearing off of the ski leg? I have worked on a lot of sleds, but this doesn't seem to be a simple task

The ball joint is attatched to the ski leg(the aluminum piece that attatches to the ski and the upper and lower a-arms attatch to it), and then the other end of the ball joint is attatched to the A-arm. Before I can remove the ball joint from the a-arm I have to remove it from the ski leg.....but how do I do that? I appriciate all of your help

Take the a arm off the sled and the ski should still be attached. losen the nut that is attached to the joint to the end of the threads so you have something to pound on. Take a rubber mallet and pound on the nut. The joint is tappered so that when you tighten the nut it gets tighter in the ski leg
