HELP!!!!! Can't get clutch off

I am leaving on Wednesday, and wanted too re-clutch my 07 800r, but I can't get the priamery clutch off. It always seems to come off hard, but this time it just won't go. Any help would be great and A.S.A.P. since I am going in 3 days.

tip the sled on its side and fill the hole with hot water then thread in the clutch puller. its alot cleaner than using grease. also setting a heat gun in between the clutch sheaves for 10 15 mins helps to. doo talk has alot of clutch pulling tips

i use a propane torch, and heat the clutch shaft, if you dont have an impact hit the wrench with a hammer, and when reassembly happens wipe grease on your crank then wipe it off before you put the clutch back on

Just knock the sliding half of the primary off. No need to pull the hole clutch. Once its mated to the crank just leave it. Thread your puller into your clutch about a half inch. Apply leverage force to the movable half of the clutch pulley and rap the clutch puller sharply but not with alot of force. You will have to rap it maybe 10 times or so.

Then the outside half of the clutch will pop off. This is the only part of your clutch you will need for clutch work.

If its really stuck I use this method:

1. Tip the sled on its side with the clutch on top.
2. Fill thich oil(gearbox oil) into the bolt hole up to the outer threads.
3. Use the stock bolt with teflon tape on threads. Insert and use it as a puller against the oil on the outer threads, it will pop out easy. It works as hydraulic press.....

Sorry for my bad english....

Agreed Zipperno

I like to use hydraulic fluid. I used water once just after I pulled the sled into the shop, created an ice block in the clutch(thought puller was F'ed) what a beeatch. Teflon tape is your good buddy in this case!

its REALLY easy to do. back the bolt off just enough so its not snug on the clutch, start the sled with no belt and ease on the throttle so the sheaves hit one another, this force will pop it off, as soon as it happens shut the sled off, now the 2 sheaves are stuck together but off the crank, thread the bolt in just to the first part so its stuck through the outer sheave threaded into the middle, flip the clutch over and whack the sucker on the ground against the bolt, it will pop right apart, i spent ours fighting with heat and hitting it, this takes like 30 seconds..

i'm not disagreeing with you, i'm not doubting it works but... this seems like a disaster waiting to happen. i would like to see it done though.:D:beer;:beer;

I did this 5 or 6 times and it worked great. The last time I did it the whole primary came off and flew out the side panel. Destroyed the primary, secondary sheaves, side panel, and the aluminium piece that goes around the foot hold. Never going to do it again.
