Help apex oil use

My turbo apex is burning oil.It smokes a little and exaust is wet.It seems to be the worst when I get stuck straight up and down but is at any odd angle. It seems to be ok under normal conditions. Any ideas?

what turbo kit is it ,if its a mcx rear mount check & make sure your oil return line from the turbo isnt kinked or pinched

A turbo likes to be position straight up and down and up to 20 deg either way, any more than that you can run into oil going past your seals . when you are getting stuck and the sled is position in different angles you run the possibility of the oil not getting drained out of the turbo correctly and gets dumped into your charge tube in jested into the engine burning the oil . it doesn't hurt any thing with a little oil but alot will raise your cylinder psi . also make sure your oil return is unrestricted, if it is the oil will back up and go out the seals and into the charge tube.

apex

Charge side of turbo shows no sighn of oil.I did a comp.test last night and pto cyl. climbs to a 100psi fast and then climbs to normal(145)alot slower than the other cyls. All the plugs were not real tight and that cylender showed oxydation on the top and down the threads i dont know if water went down around the boot or something came up.Is this rings or valves and how much for shop to fix.

I have the boondocker kit and they have a new return oil line that does not kink. It fits great and works great too.

Once I unloaded my sled ready to go for the day and wow it was smoking a lot!! I figured it would quit in a minute and I put all my gear on but it did not quit.

The return oil line was kinked.

Really does sound like it could be your problem.

do a leak down test this will tell you if its going by the valves or the rings

burning oil

umm, if your problem is burning oil its most likely not the head. it could be the valve guides but that should be on all cyl. Oil is most likely going to come from the rings or the turbo. As a lot of people have said if you leave the sled with the turbo down hill it will allow oil (not likely to be visable unless it is a lot) past the seals. That or if the return line is kinked or pluged it will do the same thing. I have also had the turbo pull oil into the compressor when the intake is covered with snow. When I have gotten oil in the intake sys. it takes a while for it to clean out, you will also see it come out the blow off valve. julio
