HELP...Anyone have a used or bad fuel pump laying around???

I put a fuel pressure regulator on my sled earlier today and fired it up to adjust it and set the pressure and realized I had a bit of a leak at the fuel hose fitting where it squeezes the tank. Well, all I could do was try to get another revolution out of it onto the brass nipple coming out of the tank, so I slowly started turning it with much hesitation and got about 3/4 of the way around and YEP............you guessed it. I twisted the nipple off of the brass fitting! It is the fitting that actually goes into the fuel pump itself. I ran to all the parts stores and ACE hardware with no luck. Seems it has special threads! Go figure......Looked it up as an OEM part and it only shows it as a full fuel pump assembly. Like $400! Whatever............Sometimes they just have us by the balls. Anyways, if someone has an old pump or a bad pump lying around I would love to buy the smaller brass fitting from you. I am pretty much down-and-out riding until I get something. Thanks guys.............

cant really tell how large the threads are in the fitting that broke off but if you cant come up with a fuel pump for parts I wonder if you can find a fitting that has different threads but roughly the same size and tap the fuel pump housing out to fit the new threads, just a thought.use lots of thread tape, and it shouldnt leak.good luck

Well, you are not going to believe this, but they are a 10mm thread. Not like anything anyone has in there drawers around here. Just tried calling several sled salvage yards back east and nobody has jack! Where are all the wrapped up M-sleds?

You might have better luck calling a hydraulic shop or something along those lines?

I'm just gonna get a buddy to whip a couple of them out on his lathe. Thanks!

I feel your pain as I did the same thing and came up with the same fix. It's a quick job on a lathe. those thing were poorly made and are prime for breaking. Glad you got it fixed
