Helmet Speakers

I know there are pro's and con's to them, but when I'm riding the noise of the sled is loud enough to block the sound of an avalanche.

So what are you guys using for a set up for helmet speakers? I buds hurt after hours of riding?

Does the noise of your sled drown out the sound of a avy when its not running you ear buds will?

I really enjoy music, but just couldnt ride while listening. Heck, most the time i ride with earplugs, but, still like to hear my engine. The mechanic in me goes crazy if i dont hear what the ticker is doin at all times!

I don't ride with music going either but I have a buddy that I ride with that is constantly listening to music and is always trying something different.

The latest that he now uses is "noise cancelling" ear buds. He claims they are the $hit but again I have never tried them my self.

I know there a little spendy but he swears by them. Here's some info on them,

Wife and I ride with Scala Rider communicators when she rides. Plug my Iphone or Ipod in when it's a guys ride and rock out. Really can't get so loud that you don't hear the motor or other stuff. Can still hear music though. Tried head phones and the hurt my ears since my helmet "fit's" like is supposed to.

Just ordered these yesterday! I had the iasus ones the last couple years but they starting cutting out and getting staticy. Hopefully these new ones work good!

I don't wear them but I have friends that do. ( they use Skull brand)
One of them had his sled blow up because he was listing to music. Could not hear the change of the exhaust tone even though guys around him could. When we flagged him down it was too late.
