Helmet choice

I'm looking for a new helmet, I have about 4 in the garage, they all fog up (more or less) I heard that the skidoo makes one of the best full face helmets, the modular or the bv2s? Or maybe something else? What is your experience as far as the best helmet on the market (don't want electric visor)

In this forum don't bring up modular helmets or you will get flamed. Too many people here think they are uncool.

Before I had eye surgery I had the same problems. I found that a motocross helmet with a pair of goggle with a fan did the best. Flip on the fan when they start to fog and they cleared up right away.

My only other option was a full face helmet with an electric visor. That worked great until some A-hole stole it out of my trailer.

Good luck.

509 Helmet and goggles. Very rare I have fogging issues. One thing I have learned also is that the more I take my helmet off the more they want to fog.

With a fan??
What fan do you have in your goggles?

Modulars, used to have one and it worked great. Wasnt really worried about wether it was cool or not. Only two drawbacks to them, 1. they are hot, not enough venting in them to keep your head cooled off. 2. They are heavy! if you ride all day long you will know it by the end of the day! My choice is to go with the motocross syle, lighter, and with a good pair of goggles you wont have a problem with them. Plus you can buy a motocross helmet for a little bit of nothing compared to a modular.

I always take 2 helmets with on trips. My first choice is my 509 helmet but last year we had 2 days back to back, actual temp was -32 and the other was -34. Those days (I hate to admit it) but I run a modular.

^^ Good choice....great combo....FYI, in addition to the great peripheral vision with the Aviators its really easy to switch out lenses when needed.
