Has anyone bought a helmet cam form extreme helmet cams.com and are they good thanks for any advice or info.

I bought the 480 one a couple of years ago. It takes good movies and the mounts rock. It comes with a sturdy aluminum mount with a plastic protective cover and it also comes with a pedistal mount for mounting to hard things. It works really good and I am very happy with it. I have hit a lot of stuff with it, and it is holding up great.

See if you camera has a LANC input on it and try and get one of the buttons. It allows you to turn the camera on, off, start and stop recording without having to get into the pack.

I would recommend going with the 580 system as that will get you the best picture quality.

Good luck with your decision.

I made my own camera and used a bullet camera that attached to my visor ( e-bay 45.00 ) video and audio cable ( e-bay under 20.00 ) and a micro dvr with built in 30gig hardrive ( e-bay 225.00 ) lithium ion batteries ( e-bay 9.99 per battery back ) My camera works as well if not better then anyones and has 10-15 times the record rate. You guys should build your own and save 500.00 for gas :) Oh and the audio sucks where ever it is lol you will hear nothing but motor, but that might be a good thing. Just my 2 cents guys.

Thats due to not having an engineered system. The motocam 360 has the mic integrated into the base of the helmetcam mount, that takes all that wind noise out of the mix, you end up with good quality sound. Isnt that motor noise sweet!
Helmet cams can be had for as little as $100, but remember you get what you pay for. If you want quality video that will last for 4hrs or more at 580 res,
cam and recorder ck out motocam 360 why mess around with a cam corder based system and all the hassles that go along with it.
