Helix Suggestions on a Mountain Max??

Looking to replace the shoes that the helix runs on in the secondary clutch. And the helix itself. I have heard of dual angle helix's, but don't have a clue on what to run.

I do boondocking. Trees, and meadows. Not alot of climbing but do a little.

02 MM 700
151 Camo Challenger 2 inch lugs

6000-10,000 feet
Current Clutch set up
.8 alum rivets in tip and heel
stock springs in primary, and secondary
geared 20T top. Stock chain and lower gear

Bender Triples
Peak Head

A 46/40 or 48/40 is big improvement over the stock helix for mountain riding at any elevation or setup. You wont be disapointed.

I ran an 02 MM with a peak head, bender pipes and a 151. It had a lot of weight removed from the sled and I weighed around 165 at the time.

Riding at 9-12K ft I perfered a straight cut helix, normally a 41 or 43 if it was real dry powder. I ran a lot of spring tension to make it back shift quick.

The problem I had with the steeper multi angles is that when boondocking some time you have to make short quick climbs with little to no run at them and with a 48* starting angle it would bog the engine down. Hope that helps. Eric

I had a 2000 mm with bender pipes and porting and ran a 144 and had great success with a 47/43 but running a cat sec spring for more back shift...02
