helix question

I have a 2008 RMK 600.

163 inch track, 18-41 gearing black purple in driven 56-42 stock helix.

My buddy have a 58-40-46, 58-38-46 cam and he is willing to give me a good deal on..

I think the 40 or 38 angle can be better for climbing..

What are you think?

See level to 3000 ft. I already have a delrin washer, can i put another one to reduce initial ?

delrins wont reduce initial angle..slp sells a shim that spaces the spring retainer/roller plate down..and it does reduce initial angle /length..but you should be able to set up your clutches without it...

I'll take a stab at this..the helix your buddy has should work good..stick with the black/purple secondary spring(install a fresh one if yours is very old, they do sack out)try running what you have up frt in the primary.see how it does you might have to work on it after you see how it works..I would use your memory recall to verify max rpm and track speed(test your stock setup so you have a good baseline in different conditions) as well as monitor clutch and belt temps....let us know what it does and how it works..what works on the dragon 800's up at 10000 ft should work for you down around 3000 ft...there is a good D-8 clutching thread on here if you search..its called qustions for those who have clutched their D-8's.....

There is not much snow here to test in deep condition but i have swap the cam today and do some run. RPM still on the range 8250-8300 on backshifting. I never remember my sled pulling like that at 30-40 kmh WOT. Even if i have 163 the front ski lift couple of inch... i never feel that before. I don't have data on track speed before after because of the missing snow condition.

Like before, the 600 must have the pipe hot to pull all the rpm. I have to do 1-2 run to get the pipe hot and then i have all the power.

Very very happy of the result i got today, i'm on the 58-40 angle.

Here is my setting:
10-64 weights
18-41 gearing
120-340 spring in primary
fresh 160-240 team spring
58-40-46 cam
SLP can, slp big air intake kit.

The only negative point is the pipe must be hot to pull all the rpm.. if i do some low speed driving between the tree..i lost some rpm.

you can find more performance going to a heal heavy weight like belly busters or slp mtx's(what I prefer and use on my D-8) then it pulls even harder...check this thread..what works at 10000 ft plus should work for your 6.....http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=128754

Thank for the link! Very informative post.

Look like only thing missing to my setup is MTX weights. Do you think i will gain even with the little 600?
