I finally received my 44/36 helix from BDX. I was installing it on my 09 M8 when I noticed there were two narrow black plastic washers under the outer side of the orange secondary spring on the helix I was replacing. It somehow looks strange to me.
I do remember last spring trying to install the BDX shift assist kit (which came with no instructions) and I remember calling BDX and I thought they said to use both plastic washers. When I installed the shift assist kit I did take out the thin and wide plastic washer from the inner side of the spring and replaced it with the shift assist washer plate.
Bottom line is: Does this picture look correct with two washers under the secondary spring?
PS: I see I still have a little blue loctite on the helix from installing those fine torx head helix screws.
