Heinz 57 stain help

I spilled Heinz 57 on the carpet. I tried cleaning it with Spot Shot but it wasn't working that well and I ran out so I grabbed the Spin Brush Steam Vac and used regular carpet cleaning solution and it turned the stain from a BBQ color to a bright yellow.

Does anyone have any tips on getting this stain out? I even tried dabbing it with vinnegar/water solution and it doesn't seem to be lifting at all. Spot shot usually cures everything but I ran and bought more and it doesn't seem to be working at all either.

Of course it has to be in a high traffic area.

Soak it with Oxy Clean?

Found this for you, hope it helps and good luck!

Important - Always read and follow the care instructions and any warnings provided by the carpet manufacturer. Rugs and carpets with natural fibers and/or certain dyes may require special treatment. If in doubt contact a cleaning professional for advice/service. Also follow these General Rules for stain treatment.
Remove as much of the foreign material as possible by blotting with a white paper towel or scraping with a dull knife.
Apply isopropyl rubbing alcohol to a clean white cloth, white paper towel or cotton ball. If the spot extends deep into the pile use a blotting motion until the spot is removed or no color is transferred to the cloth. Do not allow the alcohol to penetrate into the backing as this will destroy the latex bond. If the spot is on the surface only, rub in one direction at a time. Never us a circular motion to remove spot as this may destroy the texture. Stop if spot is removed. If not, go to the next step.
Apply a small quantity of detergent solution to the spot. (To make the detergent solution mix 1/4 teaspoon of a hand dish washing detergent which does not contain lanolin or bleach with 1 quart of water; examples of safe detergents are Dawn® and Joy®.) Use a blotting motion to work the detergent into the affected area. If spot is being removed continue applying detergent and blotting with a white paper towel until spot is removed.
Rinse with tap water using a spray bottle, blot to remove excess moisture.
Spray lightly with water, do not blot this time; apply pad of paper towels and brick and allow to dry.
If there is still some stain on the carpet and blotting is not removing it, then moisten the tufts in the stained area with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Let stand for on (1) hour. Blot and repeat until carpet is stain free. Light will cause peroxide to change back to water so no rinsing is necessary. Apply pad of paper towels and weight down with brick.

Have you tried the shamwow?

The yellow is probably turmeric. This is a very hard to remove colored spice/ natural colored dye. This is most common in yellow mustard. Contact a qualified professional carpet cleaner. You should look for one that is I.I.C.R.C. Certified and knows his stuff about dye stripping/ removal. You will not be able to remove this yourself and what you are doing can sometimes make it worse by "setting" the stain. You may be better off splicing in a patch.

For food stains I use dawn dish soap (the bomb) with hot water and a toothbrush. But as one other poster mentioned, this is a really difficult stain to remove. I spilled BBQ sauce in a rig once and even the pro couldn't get the crap out. I had a yellow stain for a bit and then the stain started to fade.

Good luck.

LMAO.... That's what I was going to suggest. Spot shot is the first thing I try followed by WD40 then brake cleaner. :D

try oxi clean. my dog found the red chaulk for the cue stick and chewed it all over the white carpet, tried everything and then oxi clean finally got it out.

LMFAO. I was reluctant to open this one but sure got a great laugh. No offense...just funny. Best of luck with the stain!

Buddy of mine owns a carpet cleaning business.

He has told me in the past for Red or dark color stains

Put a paper towel over it and soak the paper towel in vinegar.

Then put a hot iron on it and press firmly down......repeat as needed.
