Heber City Recommendations

Hey fellas,

I’m a flatlander from Northern Wisconsin, but I’m going to be in Park City, UT next week for a conference, and we are going to get a full day on some RMKs in Heber City on Friday. We would like to do a mix of trail riding and off-trail. Any recommendations on where (or where not) to head? I’m not familiar with the area.

Thanks.

Lake creek. Are you renting from Uinta Rec.? If so talk to Adam and he'll get you squared away.

To get to Lake Creek. Go to downtown Heber and start heading East on Center Street. Follow this road up until you see a parking lot. You'll unload there, ride about 5 miles of road/trail up, and then you get to the National Forest. ONce you get there, have a blast. You could ride the trail, but you won't want to, I promise.

I'm probably riding Saturday the 17th from the same spot if you want company.

Thanks for all the info, guys. Yes, we are working with Adam @ Uinta. Looking forward to the ride. We've got RMK 600s...is that enough motor in this area? What are the snow conditions like with the warmer temps? The guy coming with me isn't that experienced on a sled, so I'm hesitant to get a guide to take us out into the best spots, only to be held-up. Hopefully we can get far enough out that I can at least have some fun off-trail.

Thanks!

Yeah if your stayin in Heber, then i would definitly hit up Lake Creek. You'll be there in 25 min and its awesome riding. Very fun.

There is a ton of riding within a stones throw of the trail in that whole area. So even if your guy is inexperienced you can still hit a lot of terrain and still be within sight of the trail if needed. Enjoy!

There is supposed to be a storm from Saturday night until Tuesday morning. (Of course, Utah weather is hard to predict and they are usually wrong!) You may get lucky. I'd suggest getting some avy gear for everyone. The few extra bucks could save a life!

Had a great time at Lake Creek...thanks for pointing the way, guys! We were joined midday by another local business associate who has ridden the area for years. He was able to get me into the back country a bit. The area was on par with the finest riding areas I've ever seen. I'd love to get back some time with fresh powder. It sounds like the weather hit just after I left.

Adam from Uinta Recreation was great. Very pleasant and accomodating. Next time I think I'll look to find a little more of a sled than what he had to offer.

Thanks again.
