Health Care Spin from WH - the truth from doctors

When BO says the AMA is on board with health care reform (HCR) this is what you need to know.

First, only 20% of doctors are AMA members, 80% are not.

Second, if you divide doctors into two groups, there are private practice/clinicians and academicians (who don't see patients). Clinicians are on the front lines treating patients. Clinicians do not agree with Obamacare.

Dr. John Lundberg was on Fox this a.m. talking about this. He says what the WH says we need for HCR is not needed in the US. There are some reforms needed, but nothing near the total overhaul BO wants. We do not have a "crisis" like the WH tries to make it sound. [This administration likes to invent crises.]

We have the greatest health care system in the world. People from around the world comes here for health care. You never hear BO ever say what's good about our HC system.

http://savequalityhealthcare.org is a website by doctors with information, petitions, sample letters to call, write their congressmen.

I was looking through the House version of the health care bill where someone had listed the really SCARY stuff in it. They cited all the places in the bill where there were dangerous provisions. It's like this administration wants to destroy our country intentionally.

We really need to take this seriously.

As I've posted before, from my job with multiple hospitals for over 20 years, over half the patients who come in do so because they are irresponsible, i.e., alcoholics, drug users, psych patients who won't take their meds and end up hospitalized over and over, etc. They are on SSDI and taxpayers already pay for their health care. I'd like to see actuaries and other stats showing the percentages for this (as well as #s for illegals).

Finally, when you keep hearing that "47 million Americans are uninsured" it's BS. Here's the true breakdown. It's more like 8 million.
Those #s include people who are between jobs, people who make more than $50K a year, illegals, young people who don't want to pay for it, etc.

It's interesting to see how hard they are pushing this, while at the same time a lot of dems, all the republicans and most of the doctors are dead set against it.

They were saying on CNN that there are a load of doctors dropping out of different medical orgs that are supporting the WH on the socialized health care system.

in bold: make no mistake about it that is exactly what they want. once people come to terms with that everything starts making sense. if one does not look at the admins actions through that grid the only other explanation is they are the DUMBEST politicians in the history of politics.:(

Working the midwest currently and it seems like everytime a comercial comes on the tv that is about how we don't need this reform. Very interesting to the ammount of money being spent to fight this reform. Hope it dosen't happen. It will be a sad day if this gets pushed through.

I'm guessing it's part of the $1000.00 a month I pay for my family in premiums thru my work. Which for the most part they don't pay out in the amount we visit a doctor and how they have the copay's and deductibles, mine is something like $1500/year and they get me to pay that also.

Something needs to happen and I'm not sure what it is, with the constant increase in premiums and lower pay outs it's getting to the point where I need to decide on having insurance.

I did a quick quote on DakotaCare's website for a family of 4, their best coverage with full prescription copay, maternity coverage, Office copay, preventative care copay, and chiropractic coverage with a $2,000 deductible and it's $887 per month. hardly the $1,000 a month that you are paying and with the office co-pay of $15. IF employers shop around they can find good affordable coverage. My employer pays $250 towards my insurance as does my wife's employer so at the end of the day, we are able to cover our family for about $387 per month ( out of pocket). AND mind you this is for their BEST coverage.

Why in the hell can't this "stupidly" president or his "stupidly" wife ever have anything good to say about this country or anything about it? I think this country has treated them pretty well, half a million dollar dates and million dollar shopping trips to Europe. Just what is it they want? Can any of you tell me?

marxist tentants are opposed to free market tentants... its as simple as that... eliminate any vestige of a FREE market(in all areas of life) and then they might be happy.

I have heard so many doctors say they will pack up and get out of medicine if this goes through. For the government to appoint a panel to tell doctors what meds they can and can't use, what procedures they can and can't do - are you serious! Medication is not a one size fits all. Taking the decision making out of the hands of the doctors is insane.

Obama doesn't know what he's talking about either when he talks about "sore throats and tonsillectomies." He accused pediatricians of trying to get more money by sending kids with sore throats to get tonsillectomies. Ummm, pediatricians don't do tonsillectomies, ENT surgeons do and the peds don't get $ from the surgeons.

Maybe Biden should do the talking now?

Sorry ..... IMO, you should have said 'We can get the greatest health care in the world..... if you can afford it. People from around the world comes here for health care because they can afford it."

I work for a VA based company that provides excellent employee and family coverage. In 2008 AND 2009, our monthly INCREASE in employer premiums/employee went up by MORE than what guys above say they are paying in TOTAL for full coverage. We are now paying more than $1200/employee/month.
Something is not adding up.... and with the increases that employers are seeing (in the 30+% per year) .... the total #'s of uninsured people in the US is going to skyrocket. This isn't rocket science....... maybe B.O. can read the writing on the wall.

This is exactly what our company is seeing.

Health care take over is destroying bo's rep with the people.
Get this....
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...ministration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

If you want to lower the cost of health care, you HAVE to take lawyers out of the equation and put doctors back in charge.

Ollie wins again...still some Drs scare me.

Besides dropping lawyers, patients need to let the healthcare system do it's job. You don't go to the plumber and tell him what you "know" is broken or how to do something.

Sorry ..... IMO, you should have said 'We can get the greatest health care in the world..... if you can afford it. People from around the world comes here for health care because they can afford it."-no we do have the BEST. You ever walked through the lobby at the Mayo Clinic on a monday morning? It's crowded...and not all of those folks are what you would call wealthy...course Mayo is a non-profit.

The MSM and WH keep saying the GOP is the party of no. The GOP has come up with solid plans for everything the WH is trying to cram through.

With health care "reform" (read overhaul and transformation) the GOP wants to deal with
1) frivolous lawsuits (tort reform)
2) the billions in Medicare and Medicaid fraud
3) allow people to get insurance out of state
4) allow small businesses to join together for better ins. plans (like co-ops)
5) reform HSA's (health savings accounts)

And, yeah, what X said. We do have the best. But there are problems that need to be worked out. It's maybe not run the best way.

I would not base all hospital experiences based on the Mayo clinic... Your right the Mayo is very very good.. but I don't think it is very representative of ALL hospitals.
