FirstPlaceParts.com
Mark here from FirstPlaceParts.com.
I am the owner of FPP and do take every negative comment seriously and do like to hear what we are doing wrong and what we do correctly.
This may be a long post but here we go.
I'm also not making excuses but do need to explain.
To start the post, we did make mistakes and am sorry for that.
We are not going tits up, we are actually looking to expand due to the problems listed in this post, we were under staffed this year for the volume of orders we had, our mistake. We had a part time person who left mid December and our MAIN order processor had a death in the family the week of Christmas, this left us very under staffed and the people who answer the phones were now doing their work on top of what they normally do.
One comment was that we drop ship everything. We do not drop ship everything, we carry very large quantities of Klim, Castle, FXR, Snobunje and many other products. When you add up the pages of just the clothing catalogs we carry it is over 315 pages, with several colors and sizes on each page the numbers get staggering. We place large stocking orders with each of these companies but cannot stock everything in each catalog, this would be a multi million dollar venture every year just to stock one of each size and color, let alone several in each size and color. Then imagine the stock you would have left at the end of the year.
Then we get to the parts. Just the SLP catalog is 120 pages long with several products per page. Stocking every product in quantities would also be a very large order every year for us. We do stock a lot of SLP but cannot stock every product they carry. This does not even include all the Western Power Sports product we stock and carry or the Parts Unlimited stuff we stock and carry. We could not even come close to carrying all these products. Our goal is to get this done but cannot at this point.
I like everyone who posted here, am an avid snowmobiler. I started FirstPlaceParts.com because I did not like buying Klim from one place, SLP from another and a running board from another, so I started FPP. I bought my first set of Klim gear at the old Yamaha dealer in Cooke City and many other parts at several other dealers or sites on the web.
We have been growing faster than we can keep up and WILL have this changed for next year. We need more phone lines and more people to answer these lines and to respond to your emails, this was MY mistake and we hope to remedy this from here on out. I would like, in the next few years, to have almost every product in stock that most mountain riders need. We have a lot now but will improve on that.
Again, I am sorry for the mistakes we made this year and hope those of you who had a bad experience will give us one more try.
***If you have any problems in the future pm me and I will get it taken care of.
Thanks for reading this, FPP will do a better job in the future for the Snowest.com users and all who place orders with us.
Thanks
Mark
