Headlights and tach go out when I turn handwarmers on high?????

I replaced the relay already.

It is an 07 MXZX 440.

Like the title says, I can fire it up and it runs fine and all. When i turn my handwarmers on high the headlights and tach and tailights go out, but the sled runs fine.

I can turn the handwarmer back to off, or low and everything works fine again, but as soon as it is switched to high everything goes back out.

I have tried it with the handwarmers on low and off and switched the headlights to high/low beam and it doesn't effect it at all.

Any ideas?

Sounds like one of your legs of your stator is going out. I unplugged my headlight so I could have handwarmers and kept riding it till it went all the way out.

i don't think it is the stator though. I would assume if it was a stator it would happen on a switch from high to low beam headlight as well.

Don't turn your handwarmers on high. Seriously though, I think when mine did that it was a ground issue. Try poking your test probe through your grnd. wire and against your handlebars or a bolt or something to see if it makes a diff.

Well I got everything working.

I believe I had a loose wire from the beginning. The gauges and lights were real dim so I replaced the relace. Bingo everything worked accept for the high handwarmer switch which would take out the headlights and tach.

So today I just decided to put in the original relay and bingo everything worked again. The original was fine. the AR201 from napa has something wrong with it. Oh well I have one AR143 left for an extra.
