i can't say for sure but on my 03 there's a small black relay above the primary clutch that goes bad. one minute you have lights, next minute you have no power. could be something totally different though since mine is the rev chassis.
My 2002 ZX did the same thing. Voltage regulator was bad. You might start it up, and see what the voltage is, on the light bulb wires. Should be around 14 volts AC, and 5 volts DC, when rev'ed up. If it's a lot higher, then the voltage regulator probably popped. It's also possible that it will read 3 or 4 volts AC, that's what mine read. After the voltage shot up, I guess the handwarmer shorted and took out the rectification diode.
