So here's the deal, I ride an 07 Switchback 600 CFI with all dealer updates performed through 08. If it matters, Im probably around 225 all geared up.
We were planning on doing a backpacking trip in Quebec this year but due to the conditions we are looking at heading back out to Wyoming.
My current set-up;
07 Switch 600 CFI HO
Radiator Deleted w/ bottle and t-stat update.
09 front end conversion
Skinz front bumper(I have a float plate that I can put back on as well)
VE Rear bumper
Stock CLutching
Stock Gearing
144x1.75 Camoplast Back Country
I was planning on putting on an SLP Pipe but due to the pipe restrictions in Quebec, I stuck with my stock exhaust and just through on a can. Ill be sticking with this exhaust set-up. Some other minor stuff but shouldnt really make any difference so Ill spare you the details!
I have SLYDOG POWDER HOUNDS up front.
Side panels are vented shock towers are vented, Forgskinz intake kit ordered already, mtn addiction cans, riser, etc...
WHAT I REALLY NEED!!!
Rear suspension set-up reccomendations-My sled has a rear mounting drop bracket that has 2 holes in it. One is more forward which is where my skid is currently mounted and another that is an inch or 2 back further. Which is optimum for off trail riding? Limiter strap up front - should I tighten this up as much as possible to suck the front of my skid up and improve my approach angle?
Clutching Reccomendations- Weights, springs, etc... I know this can make a significant difference in how my sled will perform in the mtns and in the thin air and this is one area that I have still not mastered!!!
Gearing Reccomendations- Should I make any changes to my gearing? Or is the Switch already more geared towards the mtn set-up?
CFI- Will this system automatically compensate for the difference in altitude etc... LAst time we went out west, I was riding a carbed sled and we ran Holtzman ATACC's and had no jetting issues. Our sleds were jetted for riding in OHIO!!! But I have never had this sled out West and I am not sure how much this system will compensate... I just dont want any suprises!!! Im thinking we will be heading back to the med bow region and our base elevation out there was 8500 ft.
Im also looking at better boards or something like them. On my Cat, Mike at VE made me some per my measurements and they worked out great. Any reccomendations???
I have only got about 4 weeks to get this thing set up for some REAL riding so your assistance is greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you,
MAXX
