Ozzydog (Harley's) 503F clutching info.

Ok Guys,
Jeff/Thierry.
Jeff you rode my 136in track with the Artic Cat Secondary. I have a 45 degree helix in it with the red spring/white mark. I have a longer Artic Cat Belt on. I can get you numbers if you want. Bud Flatten can also get you this info. Bud and I each set up our 503's together about 3 weeks before Hawkfest. We spent half a day combining different helix;s and springs comparing machine to machine, on the same conditions. The only way to do this right.

Now on to the big news.
I have been spent the past two evenings setting up my Machine with a p-85 Primary. I am not the first to do this, but I think I am one of two to do it with a Thundershift kit.
I am also running a different set up than most due to the kit.
Bud is running a p-85 also but with different spring. Also the guys in Alaska are running p-85's. Different springs and arms also.
If you go the p-85 route get an 02-03. They are an exact fit, you will need to buy a self centering washer and get a longer bolt, get a 7 in. bolt.
I am running the Thunder shift red spring, I like it, and as far as weights go. I will not tell you what I am running yet as I still need to dial it in. But the options with Thundershift are infinite for out of the hole, mid-range and top end, but the kits are meant to keep the machine pulling all the way thru.
I can say this, Jeff you rode my machine with just the Artic Cat Secondary, you saw how she pulled. In my "opinion" I think she pulls amazing, my opinion of course.
My opinion on this next statment, but I think with this P-85 Primary the machine will seriously put her in a different class. It is amazing how it hooks up. It hooks all the way thru, I mean all the way thur.
Bud has been my mentor on this. I have to credit him.
I am taking it one step further with the kit and the different spring combination.
I will be meeting with a polaris clutchin "guru" this spring to get a lesson in clutching, but I will not be able to use that info. till next winter.
Hope this helps.
Call me at 360-961-5747 or email me at geoduck1@comcast.net with questions. I will be going back to work soon so my riding season is coming to an end. I will keep tweaking.
It's been great riding with all of you.
