I did my head stud install tonight. Took a video of the high points of the install. Anyone wanna see if I woill gladly upload it. The instructions from evo are very good. There are some things that can make it a bit easier though for someone who has never done this before.

I will try to get them uploaded tonight. They are small clips and I want to put them together but my work computer does not have windows movie maker so I need to do it at home I guess. It is not a super step by step movie. But hits some highlights and a couple things I did to double check my work and also make it easier.
 
Please don't criticize I am not a videographer and i was more concentrated on what I was doing than videoing it.

Well there it is. Not alot to it. I should have video'ed taking out stud bolt out and installing the stud. Though this is fairly easy it is important to watch for the washer that accompanies each stock head bolt. On 4 other them they stayed right at the head of the bolt and the other two needed to take care to get them out. The issue with this is you can drop them into the abbyss if you not careful. Also When you reintalled the cam shaft covers you should not just bring the tension down on one bolt at a time to snug it up even. work your way back and forth to not twist anything. Last but not least I did notice that the timing chain was very close to jumping before I torque the cam bolts so I just snugged them up and then installed the tensioner then finish torqued them. I think someone else on here had pointed that out.

Something I would do if I did it again is after getting all the studs replaced and torqued to the inital 40ftlbs. I would wait a half hour and let the loctite setup. Then finish torque them. I had a couple that I could tell the stud spun down into the block. I am not worried about these as I feel I got a good torque on them but in the future I would not rather that happen and the extra time will let the red loctite setup and be good to go.

If you are worried about the cam timing you can use a caliper down the spark plug hole as a travel indicator to bring the piston to TDC. It is not perfect but if your off a tooth you would be able to tell. I have a piston stop that I could have installed but forgot about it until the end and that would have given me pc of mind on the cam timing as well.

The main thing is to take your time. There is nothing hard about doing these for someone with mechanical knowledge and a eye for detail.
