While he seems pretty even keeled and well grounded - I'm still a little skeptical. FAR better choice than some of the other names I heard floating around though.

He's been a big water rights champion for Colorado but not too sure on his love for Wilderness. Time will tell......

His DOI pick is important for NPS and BLM managed lands for sure, but what about the affect to snowmobilers out west from the USDA pick? As many of you know, the USDA pick will be in charge of the Forest Service. Obama just named that pick today too.

And that pick is Iowa Gov. Thomas J. Vilsack.

I don't know much about him as of today, but since we already know what President-elect Barack Obama's ideas are regarding environmental policy and use of our public lands, my guess is that what we learn about this man will not be a positive for snowmobilers and other motorized recreationists.
