Really?

LMAO! Way to prove him wrong!
IMO, This should be between the Doo 146 and the HCR.
Best all around freeride sleds.

Although to be fair, I think Turc could do all that on a turbo apex 174" ;)

Rider makes the machine

They're both great sleds. HCR is better in lighter snow and the assault is better in heavy snow. Both suck up big hits well but the assault does it better. Both are harder to play around with in the powder than their true mountain oriented siblings but the HCR is more compliant than the assault in this aspect. BOTH were designed for competition hillclimbing and they do it well.

Can't go wrong either way IMO. And those pics mean nothing even if they are pretty cool. You can do that with most of the newer mountain sleds if you really know what you're doing.

just to let you guys now you can do that with any sled that can get to the top of that mountain
if you realy wanted to you could do that with a 2000 ski doo summit with a 144
last the sleds are only as good as YOU can make it

Everyone knows that.

What Tom's point is that the HCR isn't strictly for competition climbing as posted earlier. It's got the wider front end for jumping, shorter tunnel, and stronger rails for hard landings.

HCR ran great all season, can run harder than regular M on the trails, gives up a couple of lengths on deep powder pulls, can't have it all!. Saw 7 Assualt's on the hills around here this winter, offered to run every one, two were newbies that didn't have the skill set, four had hoods up with toasted engines and the seventh had 8 lb boost that spanked me easy. Nice machine but they really don't seem to have their reliability worked out. Ride whatever feels natural for you.

Another easy option, I wanted to get an assault for myself this year, but couldn't do the stiff track or the 800 poo problems, I bought a crossfire & just put a powerclaw on it. It's a great track & only 2.5 inches less footprint than the assault.

It really depends on how much time you spend in the air, I really like the 141.
It's also hands down the most fun I've had on a sled, the new turbo is close, but I won't buy another 153 for myself for quite a while I think.

WatchThis nailed it! lets change the title to HCR VS XP 146 X

Assualt hasn't proved anything as far as what i've seen. I had a dragon last year, when the assault came out i instantly wanted one. didn't quite have the coin so i "settled" for leftover xp. extremely glad i went with the xp's

i really dont think the assault has anything on the hcr because whenever i have been ridding with a 800 dragon they blewup or didnt perform at all i have been dragon slaying on my m7 141 the only dragons in my area i cant beat have pipes and its in deep snow when i ldont highmark them and thats only buy a sled length imo hcr owns

HCR vs DOO HC Edition

The DOO HC Edition has the next step better shocks on the front/center and 2 steps better on the rear vs the "X" Summits...the wider stance (44/42" HC vs 40/38" Summit)...plus rail reinforcements make for solid free ride jumper and with a 154/16/2.25 track works in the deep...BJ
