hawk vs explorer

the Hawk will never Die! if your lucky enoufgh to find a used Hawk, buy it! its an investment in fun!!!!! you will see that most of the guys geting the conversons will eventually get a hawk down the road! (its the upgrade from the Converson kits) but thats just my opinion! either way, 1 ski machines are the ****!!!!!!

The conversion kit in not trail legal here in VT so I am sticking with the Hawk..

Plus you cant touch a 600 CC two stroke for pure unadulterated power. Maybe a KX500 .

getting a licence

I did some checking about getting tags for our motocross bikes with the conversion on so it can be used on the trails and it sounds like we need to have the title changed to a snowmobile title. thats it don't matter what the title says to me just get it legal for the snow cops.

The licensing issue is something the manufactures should address.
Here in Wa you get a snow park pass when you lic your sled, no pass means you have no place to park. Last year I didnt have an issue with this, but did get pulled over by a cop on the way up. He was thinking that I was going to rip the trails on my bike. After he saw what I had he was more amazed than anything.
The bike conversion is classified a snowmobile in wa once it has a track and a ski.. But how do I get the snowpass?

legalities

could you just buy a licence for your new bike/sled and get the snowpass that way, since they think it is a sled anyway!:face-icon-small-dis

Well in the rangers eyes its a snowmobile once it has the track and ski. By def on wa st law. That doesnt do anything with the title, to them its a bike,
so there not going to give up a snow pass for a bike. Yes I could lic some old P.O.S. and go that route, but this is an issue that the industry needs to address. Perhaps they have and I have missed it.
