Hi i am bringing the hawk back this year ,it had a 141x13,75x2 and a 800 ho.
I just got done trimming the new track 156x14ce,i have a 151 m10 with olins shocks
do you guy's think it would work ok on the hawk ,or should i use the stock
suspension with extensions?
I am going to try to find the mounting instructions for my m10 i think i
might need some drop brackets.

I don't think there is enough frame for a m-10. But if you make it happen I want to see Pics.

CJ are you saying that the mounting points would be below the side plates
on the frame?
if so could i not extend the frame down with some plates, i am more
interested in performance then looks,i am thinking about going with
a skid plate insted of the body work building a clutch, chain cover that
bolts right to the frame.
My friends call it the snow pig any ways and the body is pretty hevy,
my belly pan is a stump magnet , so a skid plate sounds good

I don't know if you're planning on using the stock frame plates here but if you want to stick a 14" track in there you'll have to widen the whole thing and it's quite a bit of work !

13-1/8" wide track is pretty much the absolute maximum you can go with the stock setup. Main Frameplates are 13.5" apart. I think sleds tunnel width have to be 16.5" wide to allow the use of 16" tracks, for example. Your cross bars on that M-10 must be around 16.5" so you'd need to cut them to size as an opposition to the stock suspension where you could just add 1/2" shims on each side. I'd think the M10 Suspension would work better though...

Snow-Pig hein ! If it was a 141" 800... with the right adjustments, that thing should pretty much go everywhere a 144-151" sled go and access a lot of terrain where sleds can't go ! At stock form (jetting, clutching, no mesh on the opening up the primary, stock airbox...) mine was pretty much a pig too but that's history !:face-icon-small-win

My hawk did good with the 141 p 85 artic roller cpi pipe pods rkt head
it was like riding a 125 wide open all day not enough flotation
and i know about the work to make it
wider i was mocking it up with the track being 16 wide more work and the stance standing on it was wierd
so 14 will have to do
so when widenig the frame do you keep the motor in the same position
in reference to the left frame rail?
if so will the forks interfere with the pipe?
my hawk is stript down so i will find out as i go.
a arm up front is interesting but i think the stock fork will go back on

Chain drive?

Hi i am going to use the drive shaft and jackshaft from my old polaris modsled
i can get 62x25 mm bearings that fits in the old bearing cups.
Would it be better to have the brake on the jackshaft?
any reason not to use the hyvo gears and chain ,i think i could
biuld a cover and use the old polaris style rubber seal and put a
tensioner from a chaicase in it
