Yah its costing him big $$ to support this habbit something like $6-700 a day right now.He's tried reghab once already. He can't go back to rehab cause he's got a family and they live up in the sticks. He says he can't leave them and if his wife finds out that he's using again she'll leave him.....and she means it this time! she really does.

Only choice is to wean himself on then. Quitting cold turkey won't work if he's around his family. People can start hallucinating and have tremors when they go through withdrawal. That would not be good when around your family. Do it over a few weeks.

i had a cousin that got hooked. when i was in my accident last year i refused any pain medicine except advil, because i was scared to death about getting hooked.

This all started about 6 years when he was prescribed percocets for a broken wrist. Percs have 5 mg og oxycodone and he would only take one of those a day at first. Right now he is taking 5 80mg oxycontins a day....thats 400mg of oxycodone which is twice as powerfull as morphine.(or like 80 percs a day)
He crushes and chews them for a quicker release and or sometimes snorts them. I wish he could suboxone here in Canada.

my cousins was taking 15 perc and 5 advil in one hand at one time, doing it 4 times a day before they locked him up at the nut house. i think he quit

Addiction is a horrible thing..whether it be drugs or alcohol. A few of my very close friends are addicted to pills, and one of their dads actually started doing them years ago and got into them bad and has now passed away because of them! I've never done them myself but watching others try to stop and go through the withdrawls is really hard.

Some of them have told me that if they take xanax when they are wanting the high again it helps reduce the cravings...but then you could possibly end up with a xanax addiction..

Most of all he needs to want to quit for himself. If he really loves his family and wants to be with them he will change for the better. But what is it going to take to realize that he is going to loose them for good if he doesn't stop what he is doing...It's tough but I would much rather have my family over drugs any day!
