have stock 06 rmk 900, Need Help

I bought this sled being a snowboarder trying to get out in the backcountry not knowing the work involved. heard of this site and I cant Thank you guys enough for all the help. Im not a very good mechanic but I am going to do my best to do all the work(with some help from my sled neck homie Brian over at coyote moon) Ill post some pictures soon to show some progress on the work, even though it will never stop I hope I can make this sled something Im proud of, and maybe a little easier to throw around for my 5'9'' 160 pound frame. I just ordered vents, heavy duty front spring, belt 111115, scratchers, motor mounts. costing me a little under 600. I have yet to look at the clutch to see what number it is, will I have to have it shimmed? been stuck working to put more into it. Any other serius issues I should attend to?
still on my first to do's list
new can, slp torque arm and stop, slp radiator delete, simmons genll skis, take out baffles in airbox, was looking at the ROX racing runner boards(for the wider foot print) any thoughts? I tore out the foam and am wrapping all plastic under hood with heat tape. looking for a cheap good rear suspension set up, or should I just do the front as well and not get the heavyduty springs?

no need to do anything to the suspension except maybe the heavier front spring on the rear suspension if you are on a budget. Once you get it all dialed in and running the way you like you can work on suspension updates if you have extra money to burn. Find a set of Holz spindles for the front will help if you want to do something to the suspension.

Getting the clutching and gearing right comes way before messing with suspension.

Send your clutch to IndyDan to get worked before you run that 115 belt. You have enough left in your budget to get it done so that would be a must.

Don't need a new intake to take out radiator, but if you want to spend the money on one get a fire N Ice.

These are my sled parts, not on the to do list. You would have to change your track to do these.

slp rad delete
slp torque arm and stop
slp push arm
heavy duty front Track springs
scratchers
shock wall vents
slp pipe and can Don't need to get the SLP can and pipe, just a new can and I don't recommend the SLP can for the 900
slp 2 wheel kit
simmons gen II skis I like SLP Powder pros better

avid 7 tooth 2.86 pitch driver These Won't work on your sled unless you are planning to buy a new track

You have added a bunch of stuff that you really don't need to do on to the list.

i have had the powder pros and i hated them. am now running the simmons gen 1 and love them. my brother is running the gen 2 simmons and they work good but make sidehilling harder because of the width. he is switching to the gen 1 and will be selling his gen 2's

just got my scratchers, slp shock tower hot air eliminator kit for both sides, slp rad delete, slp torque stop, heavy duty front track spring and polaris 2 wheel kit with 8" wheels. not looking forward to putting spring on but cant wait to get out and ride it once this work is done. still waiting on a cpi can, anyone have or know of a good deal on one? also will I be able to add a aftermarket pipe to this muffler in the future? couldnt find a matching cpi pipe for the 06 900?

CPI no longer makes the 900 pipe. They still have a photo of it on their website though. The SLP pipe mounts up to the CPI can.

HUH??? I'm surprised to hear that.

I love the powder pro's on the 9's on any IQ for that matter.

these are the only runner boards i found that will make the stock ones wider, I hear really good things about the betterboards but im looking for the wider style of the dragons.

I think you will be happier with the better boards even if they are narrower. I have never had a problem with the boards being to narrow. The problem was ice building up on the boards and losing your footing at inopportune times. The better boards completely eliminate this and you always have good footing when you need it. Those boards look like they would collect snow and ice bad in the real world and actually end up being narrower because of ice build up and you will have to stop and chisel the ice off with a screwdriver.
