Have my New RMK - Build Quality

How is that?? Rider forward- lower center of gravity- side panels to engine- same looking squaring front- I am sure there is more........

It may be injected and have different components, but that thing is a rev takeaway.

It is about 50# lighter than a rev.

Those sleds are not even lined up. The skis are not even close. You could do the same thing with an XP and even and M8 (as close as they are lined up).

God, I hope the Pro doesn't handle like the Rev.

well i got a perfect test for them, i have a rev xp and now i have the pro rmk, so they'll be side by side all winter, if the pro RMK handles like the rev it'll be a big down fall for the polaris even with the weight loss, my dragon handled better than the rev xp, the xp would climb but it was a joke in the powder as far as handling, i'd take a cat over an xp anytime in those instances.

I would really like to know where mine is???? I got the little e-mail from Polairs over 10 days ago and my dealer has not seen or heard anything yet.... I guess it doesn't really matter anyways cuz it's 82 degs out right now.... But she would sure look good parked in the garage next to my 09 Assault... A old and new version.... So I wait and wait for my 11 Assault..... It's been a very long summer.... That Pro RMK turbo silver is top of the line she looks good in the back of the truck...
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to park those two together, after picking up the front and back a few times for ego kicks you might put a chain on that 09 and drag it out with your pickup. :D

Sorry I am not a photoshop wizard.........yes technology has advanced and underneath its shell it is an entirely different sled. Even the XP's have changed in the 3 years they have been around.
I would love to have a PRO. All I am saying is looking at it, it reminds me of the original REV.

Personally I liked the line in SnoWest saying there has never been a better crop of new sleds.
Seemed like the staff liked the Pro the Best on average, but they stipulated that there had never been a better M8 or XP also.
I also thought the article on riding style matching up with sled configuration was interesting.

Which if you read it, would disagree with the premise that the Pro is just a reskined Rev....

Man, I can't wait to get my new Pro on the snow!!!

i have a 07 rev, 10 xp, and 11 assault in my garage, to look at the side opening panels on the assault and rev thats about as similar as it gets, imo looking at the rev and pro next to each other and comparing steering, height width and everything else these two sleds are no more alike than cats and dogs:face-icon-small-win Reports last spring from some who had the chance to ride the pro it was clear these sleds handle and respond nothing like the rev.
let it snow already!

I owned a 2006 800 REV for over a year and I've spent considerable seat time on the Pro-RMK...

I can say with confidence.... nothing alike in handling, weight or abilities in the deep.

The PRO outshines my REV in all departments.... My REV was very well setup too.

It better! I never thought I'd ride a Poo but here I am!!! :face-icon-small-coo Agility on the mtn is my main reason for switching so... we'll soon see.

Have FUN!

Build quality does look solid on these Pros...they've come a long ways. I am still torn on what sled is best for me. I was out in Cooke staying at the same bed and breakfast as Scott from Polaris last spring (up at Cooke pass - a more private location that Yamaha also uses when testing sleds)...told him he had my dream job running the mountain division. He wouldn't take the cover off the sled he brought up until I drove off - which obviously was a Pro, this was only a couple days before they were officially announced. He didn't like my Skidoo hat and said he would buy me a Polaris hat if I bought a new Poo.

Well I checked a Pro but got cold feet and switched it to a 154 Etec800. I now kinda wish I had that Pro coming so I could get my free hat. I think in my case I need one of each. At least I can rent one for the day in Cooke to get my Pro fix. Lots of Doo defectors...can't blame anyone for jumping ship this year...at least that is the pre-snow sentiment. Things can get a little crazy with a first year release - but it sure does look like they have been extra careful with the testing and tuning of this model.

thought this was a good photo in this months print magazine...

Shows just how narrow the cab of a Pro RMK is, compared to an XP....

One of the big strong suits that I noticed while riding the PRO-RMK is how tenaciously the sled clings to a steep sidehill because there is no bodywork dragging in the snow.

The one on the right reminds me of a utility sled with that wide track and sofa style seat.

after spending 60 miles of seat time between the pro assault and the 2010 xp summit in the garage:face-icon-small-hap the handlebars seem to be one of the most major diff. between the two. The xp has always been a bit of a struggle to lay over and keep there in lower snow conditions, the xp bars when turned opposite with wrong foot forward drop about 6'' from one side compared to the other ( the rev does the same ) which forces your body into an opposite lean than required compared to the pro pro taper bars which remains almost level, i can see this setup working better in a sit down high speed trail sled but a mountain sled.... no way. Just another area where i think the pro is going to shine.

Seems like the angle of the post on the Doo, combined with the length of the riser, make for some dramatic differences in the angle of the bars once turned. The Pro is more like the IQR in that the post is more vertical, which keeps handlebar geometry pretty consistent all the way through the turn. Just my observation.

the ski stance is 2 inches narrower on the xp

...From last years XP...

The new XP is 4 inches narrower than the Pro RMK (36" vs 40")

Which tucks the spindles up inside of the bodywork on the XP (as shown in the pic above)... I'm wondering how that will affect the sled in "washing out" when the side panels ride in the snow more.
A wait and see will dictate weather or not the new 36" XP stance will be a "plus" or a "minus"

This is not a knock to the XP by any means... we'll see as the consumers get these sleds in THEIR hands!!

This picture speaks volumes, looks like Polaris will be doing what the Rev did, everyboby has the driver foward now it's a race to see who stays on the side of the mountain the longest. Pretty soon their going to have one ski.:face-icon-small-hap
