Has everyone seen this? 1200 4 stroke DOO

XR vs Nytro: Same HP, better torque and Powerband curves, 11 lbs lighter (no big deal in a trail sled), now time to get it dailed in. Remember BRP in in business to sell sleds and there has been a market for 4s sleds so it only make business sense to go after it. It isn't an ego battle about 2s vs 4s. I'm looking forward to an 800etec in a Summit XP. Until then I'll just keep ripping on my 06 Summit X and 08 XP.

its alittle more then 11 pounds diff. 509 is a lot lighter then 582, i hope they do it in a summit that will be my choice for 2010 anybody know how long this engine has been around or what its been put in before, or is it totally new

The Nytro RTX dry weight is 513lbs so only 4lbs difference. Where did you get 582 from?

Anyways I don't care about the weight it is all how it is balanced.

Stock for stock the REV-XR can't compete with the 2 strokes.
The XR is nothing but a point and shoot sled.
You can't take that heavy pig in the trees.
You have to turbo it to make it run.

LMAO!!!!!

i gota a great scale there rioplay its even calibrated, the nytro is exactly 582.6 pounds out of the box, the first thing i did was weigh mine, 513 would be fantastic, but for now its a fairy tail, hang your nytro from where you put your feet and see what happens

the best part about the whole 4 stroke thing is that theres 2 coming out! oh, boy, oh boy! and i know what #2 is! any guesses?

I got my weights off of the Yami website. http://http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelspecs/557/0/specs.aspx 513 lbs, 520 with reverse and the XR weight 509 lbs is with reverse so 11 lbs lighter. And the point and shoot thing isn't happining. This is a 120" track trail sled. It compares with a Nytro RTX not an Apex. If you ride the flatland it will be a good sled but for the Mtns you need to wait for the 800 Etec. I would love to see it in 09 but most probably 2010. One thing for sure is that BRP doesn't want a piece of the pie they want the whole damn bakery.

Rioplay is talkin about the RTX not the MTX,and the 509 BRP is claiming is dry weight not crate weight.

I'm totally bummed... I want a Twin! the aprilla 1000 or the new Buell 1125r Rotax motors would be LIGHT without a tranny and clutch.
I rode the Buell at laguna seca 4 weeks ago and it really goes!
Both are in the 140-150 hp range Forget the turbo b.s.
A 1000-1200cc 4-stroke twin with the h.p. of a 800cc 2-stroke (weighing the same) Would get my $$ in a heartbeat!

It will come, Just wait.
:moon:

linc i know you understand the differance in crate and dry, as i do also my claimed dry weight was 553 on the nytro, which i think is accurate. so if the doo turns out real good and easy to add the power are you going to buy one

thats what I thought!?

none of this really adds up to me. 1200 cc?? 130hp?? sems like they had to get 200 extra cc's to match the nytro and similar weight. i cant see skidoos competing with yamaha in the 4 stroke market, doo has prided it self on its clean 2 strokes and really has a competitive advantage there.

this looks like a way better way to go I'd say! light weight, good mileage, and clean.. now just slap in a bigger bore and boom!! you get the best of all worlds!
Link to BRP E-Tec Motor

all it needs are some chrome RAVE Valve covers!:D

wow, that is something a lot of us were waiting for. A 130 hp, 4 stroke lightweight mountain sled. They are going to sell a ton of those. Add aturbo and you have 220 hp, pump gas, 460 pound, 162x16 track mountain sled,

Heres somerhing to think about... BRP already has a 1500 4 stroke with a super charger in their sea-doo that's proven and makes 270 + HP.... would a similair huffer on the 1200 make 250 HP.?????

let the bench racing begin.

Dunno,,,given the issues I've seen on the "lastest" sled,I doubt it,they've got alot of work to do before I waste my time and money owning one, however,it will being interesting how close they come in their weight loss.

I would love to put a squirrel fan on it.:D

unfortunatly, thier watercraft are about as relaible as the sleds. not a step in the right direction.

For the trail bangers this will be an awesome sled. Extra weight is better on the trails.

If they come out with a S.C.'ed version with 200+ H.P. under 550 lbs in a longtrack and they will be a big seller.
