Has anyone liked the 05 rev 1000

Excellent sled, I put on almost 5000k in two seasons. Only issues were the rich mode/cold temp issues. It was a chore to throw around but I'm only 160lbs.
Hated the skis.
Top ends and crank need to be redone at 3500k to keep from letting you down. Crank bearings are oil packed so will fail prematurley if not repacked and take out top end. Chains are done at 1500k unless upgraded
My 2 cents

I really like my 05 1000. Have had some minor issues--but all handled and it is a arm pulling mother. Only draw back is the weight. Ski's--factory--junk em. Some clutch work (As most sleds require) a gear down on the top gear and you are pretty much good to go!!

H20SKE...

I have an 06 162 which I love......but it has not been without its problems.
Track ripped off at 1200km, Chain broke at 1400kms, engine went at 1650kms. All of this was covered under warramty(except for the chain). It is definetly a love hate relationship. I love it when it runs and I HATE it when it is in the shop.

I ride with a guy that rides an 05 1000. He has absolutely loved it. He has 3000-4000 miles on it and I think that 2900 are on the Nitrous button. :beer; Sled still runs very strong. Very good climbing machine.

Insurance man has mine

The sled is a power machine ..... but you better be Arnold Swartzenager to
move it around in the Mountains... Bought it in 06 as a factory holdover
(2005 1000 RT 162)

Rode it for the fall and took it to Cooke City for one of my annual trips!!

When I pulled it off the trailer it had 666 Miles on it ..... I knew at that
moment I was in trouble for the weekend!!:(:(

It climbed like a raped ape the first day... The second day I was watching my buddies climb a tight steep chute and they looked like they were digging
good at the top for a fast turn around. It was snowing-- so it was hard for me to see the snow conditions above them, but what the hell ..... I took a fast run at it and went way above everybody else.:)

(I carry the old speedometer face of the sled in my back pack for remebrance.... at least I will still have a part of it forever)

Big Mistake...... above the tree line I hit solid hard pack and could not dig to make a quick turn around...... I made a big loop turn and was heading down toward the tree line!! The only way for me to turn quickly was to hammer it and counter steer (down hill). About 20 - 30 yards from the trees I knew I was not going to make it! I bailed and the sled HAMMERED into the Trees... I was going so fast, I flew under the sled and track .. and yes
it beat the SH@@@@ out of me! Broke 3 ribs and was Black and blue all over. ( it Broke the ribs thru my fully loaded back pak ).

The nasty part was I still had 3/4 of the chute still to come down.. severed brake lines 2-3 inch steering movement both ways (but it still would run!!)
I will never forget the air I got coming down the rest of that chute with no brakes and no steering!:eek:

I weigh only 175 lbs.... and am not big enough to lay that sled over like
you need to in the mountains...

End of story The boys pulled me out .... (that was fun..NOT) Broken ribbs and all...... Went to dealer for the estimate and the Insurance man
had a Totaled Sled!!

Other than that I really did like the sled!!

only got a few rides on mine, but its a blast so far, with simmons gen 1 skis the thing aint bad at all to lay over at 160 in gear. you just get really used to the arm ripping power, i like to compare em to diesel trucks, there just as fast as the little car, BUT, they have so much more power, the low end is hard to get away from. i rode an 827 rev 151 side by side with mine rt100 162 and they were almost identical speed, but we swaped sleds, and the guy was amazed at the power of the 1000 compared to his sled. highmarks werent an option, snow was to setup.

i run 50mph track speed on setup snow very steep at 10,000 feet, that fives you an idea of how much power it has, hooking up with much less air per elevation and it still pulls crazy. after riding it, its definately a chore to throw around, but, i really like the stability of it, it makes me feel safer doing some things, after a full winter on it i will probably have more updates.

Hey Hey Skidooinit

You do like your 1000..... I know you like her... Just dont let her
roll on top of you- and pin you down!!

If she does, you will know what its like to make love to a fat
woman.... you will never get her off the top of you by yourself!
I am telling you .... you will need help!! LOL:face-icon-small-ton
